Best Way to Add Google Map to Site
-
My site is built with WordPress. I want to add our business location in the contact page using Google Map.
What is the best way to do this? There is many plugins out there for Word Press do I need to use one ?
Hopw about Webmaster tools, does it need to be submit somewhere in there?
When it is done properly, will Google show our store location with a map in Goolgle search results?
I saw some store result showing the map & business hours, How to do this?
Thank you for your help.

Thanks Chris, this is the most common sense way to do this.
A question came up among a mozzer that sometimes WP strips the code out.
Just want to add that, I have seen that happen before myself. The best way to ensure the code doesn't get stripped out is to stay in HTML mode after the map has been added. So I typically ad the map last. Doesn't always happen, but seemed to on a few occasions.
Thanks!!

Don't bother with plugins with this one.
Simply go to http://maps.google.com and pull up your address on the map. Once your location appears, click the "link" icon in the upper left (next to the printer icon). That will give you the HTML that you can then copy and post onto your contact page.
To do this, open the Contact page in Wordpress and switch to HTML view in the content section. Then simply paste the script you copied from Google Maps onto the page where you want it to display. This will not only embed the map on the page, but also allow visitors to interact with it right on the page.
Good luck!

Google rendering mobile to the right
So the website is displaying correctly in mobile devices and online tools. However, when using Google Page Speed Insights mobile or fetch as mobile in Search Console the page always loads as if it has moved 50% of the screen to the right - so whitespace on the left then 50% of the page in on the right side. I've been ignoring this. The site loads fine in devices and i've put it down to a glitch in Google, but at the same time it's been bugging me. Has anyone else seen this and should I ignore?

Thoughts on archiving content on an event site?
I have a few sites that are used exclusively to promote live events (ex. tradeshows, conference, etc). In most cases these sites content fewer than 100 pages and include information for the upcoming event with links to register. Some time after the event has ended, we would redesign the site and start promoting next years event...essentially starting over with a new site (same domain). We understand the value that many of these past event pages have for users who are looking for info from the past event and we're looking for advice on how best to archive this content to preserve for SEO. We tend to use concise urls for pages on these sites. Ex. www.event.com/agenda or www.event.com/speakers. What are your thoughts on archiving the content from these pages so we can reuse the url with content for the new event? My first thought is to put these pages into an archive, like www.event.com/2015/speakers. Is there a better way to do this to preserve the SEO value of this content?

Dissapeared from Google - Urgent
We are new to the whole SEO thing and could be described as total numpties as we have hidden away from it, scared of what it means and what might happen if we open that can of worms. But after seeing a 25% drop in visitors over a year, and a continued fall, we thought we better try and get our heads around what we need to do to improve our chances on google. Consequently we have signed up to MOZ and are exploring its crawl results and trying to learn and action things. Today we noticed that we have dropped fairly completely from Google for many of our top key words. We are based in Italy, our site is in Italian and we only target Italy. Our homepage is http://www.shoechic,it and two of our top keywords that have dissapeared are: "scarpe sexy" & "Scarpe Pleaser" We would love to hear if anyone can throw some light in why this dramatic change may have taken place and what we can do to address it. Many thanks in advance for anyones help and advice. Philip

Keywords in site maps. Can there be too many? Can they be considered to be stuffed?
Hi everyone,
On-Page Optimization | | TheJewelleryEd
I'd appreciate some insight on a keyword stuffed site map I've seen on a site similar to ours (we don't have this kind of menu ourselves).
https://www.1stdibs.com/sitemap/jewelry/stone/pink-diamond/
This is accessed from a site map. Do you think it's too blatant / keyword stuffed? I haven't done this with our site, but am interested to see a big reputable site doing something so clearly just for SEO.
Would it work? Or would search engines dislike it? I'd really appreciate your thoughts.

Regards to the sites they have one link in the footer on the home page, which is a (do-follow) back to our site. Also, the websites are not in my Niche.

Add Expires Headers
I noticed recommendations from yslow on "add expires headers" but they refer to sites that plug into mine (such as a you tube video). Can anything be done about this recommendation?
