How long does it take for google to realize there is a new language sub domain?
-
I have a global client who just launched new sub domains of their site in new languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Japanese).
Example:
How long does it take for Google to recognize these new subdomains? Would submitting an XML sitemap be helpful? If so how long can we see them pick up the site?
What is the best way to check that your new subdomains are showing in each countries SERPs?
Thanks for your help!

I find that it's better to tell Google it exists, but still let them find it. The best way to accomplish this is to push out an announcement on social bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious, Reddit, etc. saying "Client A is proud to announce their newly released Japanese language site at http://ja.amdocs.com." That's the quickest way.
Google visits the bookmarking sites on a daily basis and when they do, the spiders will crawl those links and then index your newly posted sites. We've used this tactic to achieve indexing in under 48 hours in the past.

Changing the language of the website meta title and description?
Hello, Moz community! I'm planning to change the language of my website title and description from English to rank better for queries on the local language. Do you think this would increase the local language ranking? And in case I need to switch back to English, let's say in 2021, would it be difficult to regain the current rankings? Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this. Thank you!

E-commerce : 1 site per country or 1 site per language?
I'm working with an European e-commerce; they already have a French website with a .fr domain. They want to target the Belgium with a .be domain and the Nederland with a .nl domain. Belgium = 50% dutch, 50% French. Is it better to do 3 websites, one per country, or 2 websites, one per language ? Thinking to SEO, costs, VAT management, what is your opinion?

Cross domain rel alternate, will it help or hurt?
I have a website that has similar pages on a US version and a UK version. Currently we want Uk traffic to go to the US, but the US domain is so strong it is outranking the UK in the UK. We want to try using rel alternate but have some concerns. Currently for some of our keywords US is #1, UK is #4. If we implement rel alternate, will it just remove our US page? We don't want to shoot ourselves in the foot and lose traffic. Is this worth doing, will it just remove our US ranking and our double listing? Any anecdotes, experiences or opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

Change domain from .es to .com
Hi all, we have a website with 2 domains name to point to it: -hacerfamilia.es -hacerfamilia.com We used to take .es like the default domain, so the .com redirected to the .es with a 301 header. But now we decided to change to .com because it is more international. So default domain would be .com. We made a multiple redirect to .es to .com with a simple htaccess rule, with a 301 header. The hosting it is the same, and the address too, for the two domains. Should we take any other steps? Thank you.

Google Indexing Part two
Hi Everybody, I am trying to understand how does Google works, so I ve been reading and researching a lot. But I am still having a problem that I cannot solve. My website is in several languages, but its main language is Catalan. so if you get into my webite: "www.vallnord.com" the default language will be catalan. but if someone using Google.es in Spanish I would like the spanish version of the web to be the main result not the catalan. unfortunately this does not work like this. For a search query like "Esqui Andorra" the catalan version is on the 1st page and the spanish (www.vallnord.com/es) is on the 4th page. Does anybody know why is this happening or how can I solve it? Regards.
