Yahoo Directory paid submission adds value?

Dear all,
One of my sites currently is not listed on yahoo directory, my question is from the natural linking perspective is really fine for SERP improvement to be listed there supposing this is a paid inclusion?
My doubt is google say "Natural links" and to be included in yahoo I'll paying for.
Really is a good choice or not ?

These are directory sites that have reputacion and Google knows that. This is not a link-building tactic to fool the search engines.
Anyway you can check this video from Matt Cutts, and if you pay attencion you will hear him talking about directories

I agree 100% about one link is better than zero, but they are paid links and you know what google say about paying for links.

If you have the money, you have the chance to get links that maybe ur competicion doesnt have. Try to check if they are there. If they aren´t is a small step ahead and is a secure one

There's no harm in getting the yahoo link if it's within your budget. It's certainly not a bad link to have! If its within budget, then it's something you should do! Edit: I should also add that yes, it will increase your number of unique c blocks, unique number of linking root domains, and it will add something to your overall link profile and DA, whether or not it becomes immediately noticeable though I cannot say.

The site to be improved after Google Penguin is freesharewaredepot.com actually it has SEOMOz domain authority only 56 and I know it is very low compared with other similar directories.
We need to get quality links from reputable directories, so I was thinking paid for inclusion in yahoo and other reputable directories and for us $300 by/Yr is not expensive at this time.
So I should paid for inclusion and it can help to extend our link profile and SERP ?

Claudio, What is your annual link building budget? From your concerns I would assume that Yahoo shouldn't be a priority of yours right now. Guest ousting on blogs should be your main focus, and then, once $300 is a smaller portion of your link budget, it may be worth adding it for completeness in the long run.

I tryed in the past several submissions to DMOZ with no success, Now I'll paid $300 for inclusion on yahoo directory (yearly) this could help our site to get more domain authority?
What do you think, Im paying for inclusion and google say "natural links will be taken into account" ?

Hello Claudio,
Yahoo directory along with DMOZ, Best of the Web and Business.com are consider by most of SEO´s as important backlinks to a website.
Do I recomend it? Well it really depends on the budget that you have, but yes they are important backlinks.

Directory with Duplicate content? what to do?
Moz keeps finding loads of pages with duplicate content on my website. The problem is its a directory page to different locations. E.g if we were a clothes shop we would be listing our locations: www.sitename.com/locations/london www.sitename.com/locations/rome www.sitename.com/locations/germany The content on these pages is all the same, except for an embedded google map that shows the location of the place. The problem is that google thinks all these pages are duplicated content. Should i set a canonical link on every single page saying that www.sitename.com/locations/london is the main page? I don't know if i can use canonical links because the page content isn't identical because of the embedded map. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How to outrank a directory listing with high DA but low PA?
My site is at 4th place, 3 places above it is a gumtree (similar to yell, yelp) listing. How can you figure out how difficult it would be outrank those pages? I mean obviously the pages would have low PA and they are top based on the high DA of the site. This also seems to go back to keyword research and difficulty, when I'm doing keyword research and I see a wikipedia site in top 5 rank, or a yell.com or perhaps an article in forbes.com outranks your site. Typically the problem seems to be Google giving a lot of credit to these pages rankings based on the high DA rather than PA of the pages. How would you gauge the difficulty of that keyword then if the competition are pages with very high DA which is impossible to compete with but low PA? Thanks

Directory backlink
Hello everyone, I know that this question has been asked millions of time, but I am really not getting a straight answer for it. Well the question will be divided in few other questions : Google changed, I get that, but I am reading everywhere, come up with a great content and the rest will follow, stop creating your own backlink and let user link to you ... But I don't know if this is apply for every site on the web, let take the example of a flash gaming site that we manage, we are creating games every day, coming up with great (unique) text for each of them, we are active on social media and stopped backlink from directories. But now we can see our sites losing ranking and seeing some websites that are not having much content on their sites or even active on social medias that are ranking better than us. We always used white hat techniques, this is why we were so well ranked for so long, but now we see our ranking change on a daily basis but can't explained why. So my question is, should we totally stop directories backlink (even the good directories)? Or we should keep on going and try PR at the same time? For a site that just started how on earth will he be able to get backlinks if it's not using directories in the first place? So I feel that I am going in circle here and I don't know what else we could do to improve our site. We even recast the site to bring better experience to the user to see if this will help on us on getting our ranking back. And this help, as the page views and time on the site improved with it, but the ranking is still unchanged (that has been done 3 months ago). Any reason not to redirect entire directory from old site structure to new?
I'm helping on a site that has tons of content and recently moved from a 10 year old .ASP structure to WordPress. There are ~800 404s, with 99% of them in the same directory that is no longer used at all. The old URL structures offer no indication of what the old page contents was. So, there is basically no way to manually redirect page by page to the new site at this point.....is there any reason not to redirect that entire old directory to the new homepage? Matt Cutts seems to think its OK to point an entire old directory to a new homepage, but its not as good as the 1:1 redirects: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=93633 Any thoughts?
