Wordpress SEo Plug In
-
Hi,
I am researching SEO plug ins for Wordpress - WordpressSEO by Yoast and All-In-One SEO Pack - and I have a question about implementation:
In general, what is the impact these plug ins have on blogs with a large archives? Will they make any changes to old posts that may break incoming links or require me to go back and make edits to each of the old posts?
Also, the main thing I want to do is allow for custom total tags. Is there another way to get this functionality? Or should I stick with a plug in because of all the other SEO benefits?
Thanks

Custom total tags are not an issue. With the plug in you can create a custom tag for each page/blog.
They wont make any changes to old posts or require you to go back and make edits of old posts....
We have tried a variety of other options and there is nothing that is easier and more functional than the plug ins.
Hope this helps.

I agree with Greg. No need to worry about anything. These plugins take care of a lot of basic stuff + give you the ability to do template(d) Meta Tags (Titles and Descriptions) based on your Focus Keyword (Yoast). All In One SEO also does a great job doing basic SEO without too much effort and then give you the ability to do more with custom meta tags for each page and so on. The URLs won't be impacted. You can tweak the URLs with your permalink settings so as long as you are not doing that, these plugins won't impact it.

The plugin Just makes filling out the Meta titles and descriptions easier and provides more technical SEO options for your pages/posts.
With regards to your archive pages, It wont change any Meta or URL info on existing posts, It will just point the Meta and Title etc when you edit the page.
I use Yoast on our WP sites, it makes editing pages for SEO benefits easy.

Infinite scroll SEO
I was curious about the implications of Infinite scroll homepages on SEO, and more specifically, no-indexing subpages of the homepage (ie www.homepage.com/page/2/ ). I know its often a good practice to noindex subpages of archives, but in this case, would it be a bad idea? Thanks!

Is it SEO-wise to edit an already published article?
One of the pages on the website is #7 on the first page for a highly competetive keyword. Since I would like to improve rankings and the page is not optimized (e.g. keyword density is 0), is it SEO-wise to edit an article and create a good on-page optimization? Of course, the ultimate goal is to be in TOP 3 for a specific keyword.

Assigning Locations to Wordpress from SEO Perspective?
I am looking for a way to split up and assign my 400 Wordpress posts to my business' four separate office locations. The four offices are in four separate areas with distinct city names. What way makes the most sense from an SEO perspective - assigning the city names as categories? adding the location as a tag, or some other way that I haven't considered? Currently, all posts are categorized by content and have no mention of location. Happy to answer any questions you might need in order to answer. Thank you!

Content placment best for SEO?
We currently have a scroll bar box at the bottom of our page with information in but from what I can see scroll bar boxes at the bottom of websites looking a little spammy (a lot of over optimized websites using them) would we be best in using a strategy like this site www.solopress.com/ which implement a show more link that drops information down would this be read as good information for Google or look just as spammy?
