Discrepancy in OSE data
-
When I look up a domain in OSE, it shows that there are 3K+ links from 349 domains. However, when I download the CSV, I only see around 1,500 links.
Why the discrepancy?
-
Unfortunately, there isn't currently a way to know which domains have more than 25 links to your site. I would recommend that you submit a request to add this capability to OSE in our feture request forum. Here's the feature request forum we use to collect ideas:

Is there a way to know which domains have links filtered out?
-
Hi There,
Sorry for the confusion.
Our system can only download up to 25 links from each linking root domain (http://screencast.com/t/91C16Av7), so if one site is (or just a few sites are) responsible for the majority of the links, it will limit the number of actual links we can export. For example, www.seomoz.org shows about 1000 internal links and our system can only export up to 25 links from any linking root domain so there are around 975 internal links that we cannot export for that page. This limitation is true for the advanced reports, as well.
I hope this clears things up. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

So if it says 3K+ total links, I should be able to download that many?
-
Almost certainly the filters you have applied. The download should tell you exactly what filters are in use.

Problems with csv file from OSE
Hello Support, I have problems with the formatting of csv files from OSE in Excel. I got lines that only contain -- and these lines break up the data. It is possible to correct this manually but a bit annoying if you have 1500+ links generated in the file. I work a lot with csv files from other tools and programs and those give me no problems. Can you help me out please? Greetings Rob

Why isn't there any link analysis data in my pro dashboard?
Hi! I've had a pro account for almost a month now and there still isn't any data for my site in the competitive domain analysis section of the pro dashboard. Am I doing something wrong? Bvxj4.png

Poor OSE results on my links
I am really disappointed with the "return on investment" I am getting from being a Pro member and using Open Site Explorer to analyze and remedy my inbound links post-penguin. My site has been crawled for over 4 months now by seomoz and OSE reprots that I have "external links" from just 25 or so domains - whereas Google webmaster tools has accurately identified well over 270 domains that link back to my site. How can do any sort of link removal strategy using open site explorer? I am paying $100/mo for SEomoz, and nothing for Google. What is the problem?

Using the 'Organic Traffic Data ' feature.
I don't have access to the clients Google Analytics Password. Can you set it up without being redirected to Google webmasters? Is there a way to insert a simple code into the website and then have SEOmoz double check the code? Thanks so much

How do data feeds work in product selection
Hi – I don't know if this is an SEO matter or not, but I have data feeds to Google, Bing and thefind.com for all of my products. I have no idea if these feeds help. My guess is that they do not generate much business. For example if I type in "Brass Bookends" our products usually don't show up until the late pages. Using this as an example does anyone know how these sites select the order in which they display products? Another way to phrase this is what makes thefind.com show a competitor's brass bookends several pages before ours? FYI we have been doing these data feeds for a year on a consistent basis so being new shouldn't be a factor. Any insights will be most appreciated. Thanks. Don. www.uniquegiftsanddecor.com
