Which way of Link Building is best for seo and long term results
-
Hi - Have started off with a Automotive site - www.mycarhelpline.com based in India 15 months back
-
Have achieved close to daily visitors of 2500+ in numbers
-
Have made do follow links through - Article submission in high pr directories, couple of press releases, high pr forum submission, directory submission with high pr (though yet to get link from yahoo, botw n dmoz) and couple pf backlinks in high other pr sites
Need to know
- Best way to create backlinks - is article writing the best way to create backlinks - as against paid directories and paid press releases. I Can target 350 articles in high pr article directories for 6 mo - Ezine, Selfgrowth, Articledashboard n others
- How can i achieve my target of 10,000 daily visitors. What link bulding strategy do i need to adopt - as am finding difficult to explore sites where i can build backlinks except articles
There are other Auto sites - heard of getting 40K unique visitors on daily basis
Pl suggest . thnx

Have you looked at our blog section on Link Building? We have a lot of posts there that talk about many different ways to earn valuable links.

I would get rid of the Google Adsense links right under your main menu bar. Why do you want to send your visitors to another site as soon as they visit your site? It will decrease your pageviews, pageviews/user, and will increase your bounce-rate.
And you'd better convert your content url's to clean url format.
For instance your forum links is now: index.php?option=com_easydiscuss&view=index&category_id=0&Itemid=78
a forum URL like /automobile-forum would work better for you.

Hello Keri,
Thanks for a detailed inspection and time spent to analyse it.
-
Here, in India - a site with a .com is what is considered generic and is typed naturally instead of country specific .in or .co.in extension. Does having a .com impacts the rankings as searched in India. (Under webmaster - the geogparhical location is set as India only)
-
For warnings etc - we do regularly check google webmaster and yes takes very seriously for same. However - if we remove ads (which we learned from some major adsense enabled sites - these are the best practices - for monetizing and ad positioning ) pl suggest if we are doing anything wrong here. There is just one banner ad above the text fold and one link unit
-
By building links, 100% with you - but how to build do follow links from external sites - which is the best way to make backlinks - through Articles or other means
Thanks once again for time to analyse and suggest. Hope to get response for above. Thanks

What do you want your long-term results to be? I'd stop building links for the moment. Most are crap links right now -- if you sat down with a rep from a search engine, I don't think links like http://www.txtlinks.com/19/Business_and_Finance_Weblogs/72/ and http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/tips-to-eliminate-fear-of-public-speaking would they pass the quality guidelines?
The site comes across as quite confusing when I try to examine it. The title tag and some text says it's for India, but it's on a dot com and it looks like the site is trying to hide the fact that it's for India and instead hoping you'll click on one of the many ads. It's hard to find information from the actual site, given the number of ads on the page.
If this were my site, I'd verify it in Google Webmaster Tools and see if there were any warnings about either my links or the quality of my pages. Google has started cracking down more recently on sites with a ton of ads on them above the fold. If it were my site, and I was wanting to attract visitors from India, I would also set that as my geographic target in Google Webmaster Tools.
I'd go through and make sure that my content was unique and valuable to the visitor. I'd ask if it was something that someone would want to link to, then go out and tell people about the content. I'd also tell them about my point of difference / unique selling proposition. Let people know what they can get from your site that they can't get from other, similar sites. As you build links, build them for your users, not for Google. Ask yourself if you would want to explain these links in a reinclusion request, or if you would want to remove them later. It's easier to never make the link then try to remove it later.
I know this wasn't the answer you were looking for, but you need to make sure the site is something that can earn natural links.

Zen and the art of link building.
If I understood correctly MozTrust measure the trust of a website, so getting a backlink from a website with a high MozTrust is generally better than getting a backlink from a website with a lower MozTrust, correct? I also saw a loose correlation between MozTrust and Majestic TrustFlow; in general if I take a list of websites and I order them by MozTrust or TrustFlow I get a somehow similar list, even if there's jumps here and there and the positions are not always the same. This reinforce my belief is better to have backlinks from website with high MozTrust (and high TrustFlow). I also understood Domain Authority is, instead, a measure of the potential ranking of a website. So, the two are measuring things which are different, MozTrust is telling you how good it is to get a link from a certain website, DA is telling you how much probable it is to rank well for that website. While hunting for backlinks and trying to figure out what is the best place to get one, I also use a third metric, the number of TOP20 positions for the website. I am doing this on a pure empirical basis, because in my little experience I saw much better results with backlinks when the the linking domain had a lot of positions in TOP20. If I got everything correctly, I would expect a correlation between all these factors. If a website has a high DA I would expect it to rank well and have a lot of TOP20 positions, also backlinks from that website should be worth something. But then... I have found a bunch of websites with a high DA, like 40/50/60, with incredibly small amount of TOP20 positions, like 5 or 10 or 50, and with a respectable MozTrust. And also I saw excellent results with backlinks from websites with 50k TOP20 position and a low DA and a low MozTrust and negligible results with backlinks from websites with a high DA/MozTrust but little or none TOP20 positions. What is your experience? As anyone an explanation of why DA/MozTrust/TrustFlow doesn't match with the count of SERP top postions? Am I getting too geeky?

Should I embark on this long term link building campaign?
I've been planning to set out on a massive link building campaign for the term 'how to start a business' and I can't decide if it's a good idea or not. (Metrics attached - my site is the last listed and the ones above it are the top ranking for that term) The sites ranking for that terms are on very authoritative domains, but the page link profiles on each of them are poor. This is one of those moments where you think, 'Am I about to waste a tremendous amount of time?' My guide is extremely thorough and I had hoped with a MASSIVE amount of elbow grease outranking pages that had poor content value + only has 4 referring root domains. The problem is, I'm not sure if the powerful overall domain authority would still outrank my newer site. Should I follow through with that general guide or focus on less hard to rank and less searched content? Argh confusion GB3jcsJ.png?1

Link Building Companies
Hi Moz Community, I'm currently looking into hiring a link building company. I found one promising lead out of Boise, ID who only specializes in white hat link building tactics but unfortunately, I found some tainted reviews as well. Any one has adice/recommendations on great companies out there? Many thanks!

Link building
Hello everyone, I am building links for an e-commerce site and I need to increase the value of the links we get by placing them on specific pages in order to pass more juice to inner pages. Which part of the website should I point the links to? Because there is no content section on the site what I can do is either link to the homepage (not an option) or link to inner pages such as category/subcategory/product pages. My doubt is that it wouldn't look natural to link to products pages from a piece of content or from a site where people go with the intention not to buy but to get information. Any opinions on this?

Site not responding well to Link Building
I worked on around 15 EMDs and all of them have similar template but different content. They are all two KW EMDs. Now I did KW research and changed Title tags and Did around 10- 15 links for them in and they all reacted very well to link building except one site. I did the link building for this site in 3 batches- 7 links in first 10 days, then another 7 in next 10 days and another 7 links after 7 days. Site's ranking decreased with each link building. Then I removed the low quality links recently. Now What do you guys suggest should I again do link building?? (though everytime I did link building site lost rankings as mentioned earlier) or WHAT IS THE NEXT STRATEGY AFTER REMOVING BAD LINKS? START LINKING AGAIN, WAIT FOR SOMETIME ?

Are Dealer Reciprocal Links Hurting My SEO?
We are a manufacturer of fireplaces that sells our product through a series of nationwide distributors. We have a link to each of our distributors, who also have links to us, on our website under a "Where to Buy" tab. If we were to remove these links and instead provide contact information, would this significantly help our SEO?

Link Building Services Post Penguin
Hi Can anyone suggest a link building service that is of higher quality and still works nowadays? All the private networks were deindexed and it looks like we're left only with blasting software, which i don't really like. I am doing research on link building now and i can't seem to find any service that meets the quality of BMR or other deindexed Homepage Networks. Thanks!

Outsourced link building?
My company is looking at outsourcing part of our SEO - some supplementary link building to boost some deep links. What does the SEOmoz community think of outsourcing link building? Every company that I've researched seems to employ very low quality techniques, which ends up with a bunch of spammy/sidebar/links page/comment links. Are there companies that specialise in high quality link building? We would definitely be looking for people that would do things like write engaging guest posts, etc, rather than spamming our brand across the internet. Are there any lessons that you've learned that you can share with me?
