Which is the best link building method after Google penguin update & why?
-
We are currently offering our client pre penguin these activities for link building:
- Local listing
- Directory submission
- bookmarking
- article submission
- blog comment
- guest post
- business review
- squidoo lens
- Forum posting
- infograhics
My questions is which is the best link building method and is there any activity that is redundant now.
thanks

I have had to kill any outsourced bulk link building which I did a bit of while optimizing my clients' websites through forums, article submissions and Blogger outreach. I think those are big as well as niche profile directories. These have an associated cost but have a lot of good fodder such as review options, article uploading, followed links and often times a referral service.

To be honest I don't really understand the new updates and in my poor opinion penguin and panda are only helping giant companies. Doesn't help legit SEM`s at all.

Hi there, I totally empathise. Clients want to see the numbers, but post-Penguin quality is far more important than quantity. In fact, quantity without quality is harmful.
It sounds like you're on the right track - explain to clients that it's important to cultivate the right kind of links, then leave your writers and designers to produce great content. It's not a fast win, but it is a long term strategy that's probably going to be resistant to any future algorithm update.
Good luck!

Thanks Debbie for your response,
Yes we have also hired content writer in house and dedicated designers to create quality infographics, But still yet to see any positive results. Everyone is saying that Content content and quality content is the key,
Other thing is to explain to clients that we would not be doing any of the link building activities and explaining them about penguin gets a bit hard. They want to see the work in bulk , "i mean show me the number" but explaining them that it will be harmful for there website is a bit tricky.
sorry its late and sorry for any spelling mistakes.

Hi. I am not sure anyone knows the answer to this..yet. However, we have dropped most 'spam/scam' techniques and now simply getting on forums/blogs and answering questions (like this!), that make sense and are on track. This truly is grunt work but worth it in the end. You want evergreen content, and want folks to track down your site and what you have to offer. My opinion is that the 'art' of link building and those that do not have domain knowledge in areas is a rapidly dying profession.
One thing...We focus on hiring writers (zerys) that can write on our topics (original content) that we post on article sites, and write GREAT original content on our site (at least we think so).
We are just dabbling in video, motion graphics etc but not seeing the benefits yet. TBD
Finally, we definitely try our best to get our 'info graphics' and guest blogs out on good PR/ranked sites, offering 'hey your link is broken' etc...not much there but a few here and there which we believe add up.
I know this doesn't help much, but having lived through the old school (techniques that used to work), we definitely know this is not the case anymore.
Best!

Anchor text and internal link building very fast
Hey guys, I just posted an article about "Customer Success". After that, I searched in my blog all the articles that contains that keyword and then linked to this new article I want to rank. Is this a bad thing to do, linking all these articles (12) in a row? Also, is it a bad thing to use "Customer Success" as the anchor text for all the articles linking to this new article? I looked for this topic but couldn´t find any. Thanks

Google Panda Update question
Since the Panda update from December 21st, 2012, some of the keywords I used to rank for are now gone beyond page 20. What I don't get is that the websites that are now ranking are definitely full of crap and they have tons of unnatural links pointing to them. I've analysed their backlink profiles and most of them have only exact keyword match anchors pointing to them. So what's going on? Is buying tons of crappy links still a valid tactic? I know it is not but how come thoses sites outrank me? I mean it happened to LOTS of my keywords. I don't get it...

Links Building from contractors on eLance.com
Hi, I never hire somebody to create link building to point to our sites. On eLance.com you can hire a SEO contractor to build link our your domaine. New to SEO, is worth it to do so? Is there things I should should be careful about? Things I need to clarify before hiring somebody? Things I need to confirm or ask before hiring such contractors? Most of those ''SEO Expert'' are from India and some have perfect ratings on this site. I have 2 eCommerce sites and we only have a average of 3 sales a day. I can't afford price companies are asking in North America. For a lot less, eLance maybe the solution for our home base business. What is your advice on this? Thank you BigBlaze

Google notice of unnatural links - no penalty
my site just received this warning on 3/18. I haven't seen any rankings drop or anything... i don't know why i got this as i really don't build links in a frowned upon way. Anyone know if you get penalized for this, and if so, how long after you get the message does the penalty kick in, and what is the penalty.... Also, if i gave you guys my domain name do you think you'd be able to tell which links would cause this message? thanks

Link building options...slim
I am in a smaller town and sell real estate. I have seen a lot of the competitors links and some of them are just blog commenting spam and things like that (although they are ranking well for certain terms and their links are coming from sites that have nothing to do with real estate.) I guess what I am trying to say is should I start going after links from other towns/cities in my state or should I go outside of my state and start looking for other links in other cities and states? I have bought my townstate.com from someone recently and it ranks highly for town, state. I am trying to find different ways to get to number one for my "town, state real estate". What would you do? Would you continue to add content once a week or so as well as build links? Thanks!

Link building and directory links to a new site
I have three new sites all hosted on the same server in the same public html folder and each site is in a different folder inside the public html folder. These sites are a listing of live music venues in different cities in Texas. Should I link these sites together to increase page rank to each other and also put key search phrases in the anchor text and place these links in the text in the center of each page of each site to make the links more effective? Also, because the sites are about a year old they don't have many inlinks yet. If i submit them to about 50 directories will Google not like this because there are way more directory links than natural links? I've been told that it is trouble to have more than about 50% directory links compared to natural links. Thanks in advance for your answers! Take care,

When rebuilding a site, when should you start building links?
We are in the process of completely rebuilding our web presence. We went ahead and started a blog using Hubspot while we are redesigning everything and writing all new content. The new site will be live in early August. The question is when do we start making a big push with Linkbuilding? I am currently trying to promote the Blog but I'm wondering about linkbuilding for the rest of the site? Do we wait until the new site is live or do we start doing it now? The new site will be completely different from the old site?
