Post Pinguin Onpage Optimisation - How Do I Build the Perfectly Optimized Page?

Hello,
So far I always follow the recomendations of the chocolate donuts example of Rand Fishkin on the Blogpost: How Do I Build the Perfectly Optimized Page?
I also think that the onpage grades follow this rules.
Do you think this is still all true after pinguin?
Personally none of my websites have been afected by the update and I have an A grade on all my landing page.
What do you think about the image alt text. Is it still a good idea to use the keyword?
Are there any newer resources here on SEOMOZ (I didn't find any with my search)?

As I said I use this guide for several years and for me it apears to work well but for SEO it's always important to stay on the top of things.

AI agree with alice, I also like to add that the reasons for these updates is to fight search engine manipulation. SEOmoz is pro natural looking sites. These are guidelines however they are not rules.
If you look at a site like Zappos you can see that they do not follow the best practices for the report card however they are branded well and they built their site for users not bots.

Hi Daria, in my opinion Rand's guide is still one of the best around. It may be three years old, but like most good white hat advice it has proved itself to have a fairly long shelf life. Good luck!

One post on a keyword updated frequently vs. multiple posts
I'm wondering - which is better for SEO: having one post which is updated frequently or multiple posts on a given topic? Take this example: I write the ultimate guide to grilling steak. This guide should be updated at least yearly, if not more frequently. Should all the updates be applied to the existing post, or should there be a new, yearly post for each yearly guide to grilling steak? Another related question: is it bad for SEO to have a single-page site? Let's go back to the example: what if we create a single page which is the ultimate guide to grilling steak. We don't create additional content or anything else: it's only the guide which continues to get added to over time with new photos, new comments, new ideas, more information, etc. Is that going to rank better than a blog with separate posts that address all the different things that go into grilling steak (choice of meat, cooking methods, useful tools, etc.)? How to force a refresh after on-page optimisation update
After updating areas highlighted in the On-Page Optimization report even after clicking the [Grade My On-page Optimization] the results don't refresh or reflect the changes eg The h1 tag does include the exact search term and there is bolded examples of the keyword phrase but report says not! Is there a way to force an update or is it a time related issue?

Landing page too long
In my first seomoz test I have many tilte pages for products that are over 70 charachers long. The part #'s are long like 10-782-10-10-10-PPxxxx etc. All these part #'s are not my key products and I could delete or truncate. My question is if the part numbers are not that important, is it OK to leave them as is or is ranking being damaged because they exist?

Just trying to get more feedback - so we recently edited title and meta descriptions for existing website SEO and we've noticed in the past several weeks, our client's website has dropped out of the top 50 in a variety of terms we were targeting that they used to show up for (note: when updating SEO, we DID NOT remove any relevant terms we were targeting). When the website does come up in searches, it is the old meta description and title. So far, the feedback we've gotten is that first, it takes Google a few weeks to recrawl and index - however, we are now on week 3 after the changes and still no rebound in rankings. We were also told to check with the SEO Moz page grader to be sure the keywords were being optimized correctly - got As and Bs for the test terms I tried. We also submitted an XML site map to speed up the crawl process as another user suggested. We've tested the site with various tools to make sure there are redirect errors, etc. and everything looks fine. Again, it's now been 3+ weeks and no ranking rebound. Any other suggestions on what could be happening?

How long would it take for On-Page Optimization to have an effect on Google Rankings?
Hi there, I have a page on our website with an Interview with the author Tess Gerritsen. There has been a reasonable amount of Social Media buzz related to the page and lots of links. According to SEOMoz we are an A grade for the keyword Tess Gerritsen, we currently rank 29th on Google.co.uk for a 'tess gerritsen' search. My question is - how long would it take for any new changes to have an effect? I presume the answer would be whenever the page is crawled again. But is it wise to change one thing, then get crawled and see what the effect is, then the next day change something else and see what the effect is. Or is it wise to change one thing and then leave it a week or so to see the full effect of the change? Apologies for the vague question, if you need any more clarification just let me know. Thanks. E-Commerce product pages that have multiple skus with unique pages.
Hey Guys, With the recent farm/panda update from google i'm at a cross roads as to how I should optimize product pages for a project i'm working on for a client. My client sells tires and one particular tire brand can have up to 15 models and each model can have up to 30 sizes. IE: 'Michelin Pilot Sport Cup' comes in 15 different sizes. Each size will have it's unique product page and description bringing me to my question. Should I use the same description on every size? I do plan on writting unique content for each tire model however i'm not sure if I should do it for every size. After all the tire model description is the same for every size, each size doesn't carry any unique characteristics that I can describe. Thanks in advance!
