Looking to Buy a New Domain for 10 Years
-
I want to Know, for how much year i should buy a new domain for optimal SEO Results. Should I Buy it for 3 Years, 5 Years or 10 Years
-
I second all the responses from Ryan, Marie and Martin.
As a simple answer, I'll say if you are spending considerable amount of time, money and resources in the business, it can't hurt to have it renewed/registered for 5/10 years. It can't hurt right other then the extra $100 expense. If it bothers you, just renew it and move on
-
Marie is correct. The number of years a domain is registered for is not a ranking factor. Building a solid website architecture, providing great content, earning links and promoting your site in social media all have value.
Two short videos which clarifies this topic:

The myth that domain registration is a ranking factor may have stemmed from a patent filed by Google years ago and was likely promoted by domain registrars seeking to boost sales.
-
No one really knows if the domain registration period is a factor in SEO, however I guess if you have the money now, register it for a longer period to show it is a lasting site and over time build trust to the domain.
-
I don't personally think that the length of time you register a domain for makes any difference. It's listed as a factor on the Hubspot webgrader (or at least it used to be) but I've never seen anyone prove that the length the domain is registered for makes a difference.
Now, if you bought a domain that was 10 years old and had accumulated backlinks for 10 years that's a different story.

Could you double check my new product markups?
Hey Mozzers! We are currently running a Google Shopping Ad campaign and one of the suggestions we had gotten from Google was to add product markups. I hired a developer to add the product markup to the product page templates (Magento, if it matters) and I just need help to double check his work before I approve and pay the final invoice. I've attached a screenshot of the page source with the item markups. I've also dropped the page source into Structured Data Testing Tool to see if there were any warnings. No warnings or errors. So it seems as if everything looks good, but I just wonder if it's a similar approach to SEO where the product markups could be better optimized. Thanks for the expert eyes on this! ruKjc

Keyword domains
Hello, I am the proprietor of RacquetSource.com, Is there any merit to using keyword domains and have them redirect to the site, or a specific page on the site? For Example, the keyword term, Squash Racquets, if I were to purchase a domain name, squash-racquets.com and have it redirect to http://www.racquetsource.com/squash-racquets-s/95.htm will this effect positively to my search ranking of the keyword term Squash Racquets? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Geoff

Using new domain in existing website
We have already a site and we want to make business in another country. We don't want to make a copy of our site because it requires more resources, but we want to use a different domain because the business will be run by a partner in that country. The idea is to make a folder in our site, www.mysite.com/countryname/ and associate a new domain www.newdomain.com, so when users go to the new domain they see the content under www.mysite.com/country/. Since de www.newdomain.com will use DNS redirection, the current domain won't be seen. Is this correct from a SEO perspective? Thanks!

URL structure for a new WordPress site
Hi I'm building a new next big thing website from scratch (for a translation agency) and I encountered an issue with the URL structure. I need to chose the URL for important targeted keyword pages and I have a conflict between two tools I'm using. Please read below the situation: domain: mashtranslation.com target keyword: french translation services which URL you think is better from a SEO point of view (and possibly for users): mashtranslation.com/services/french/ OR mashtranslation.com/french-translation-services/ I'm asking this because one WordPress plugin (Wordpress SEO by Yoast) says the URL structure is not optimised while another tool (Market Samurai) says the URL is optimised.
