Name Some Ecommerce Sites That NAIL Blogging
-
Have a few favorites but would like to get some other people's opinions on some ecommerce sites that are doing blogging RIGHT.
Who is supporting their online marketing with an amazing blog?
One of my favorites is Backcountry.com's The Goat (http://thegoat.backcountry.com/)
Let me know!

Totally agree. It looks like they even post multiple times per day. With that kind of content generation they make sure they are finding the pieces that connect with their customers.

Yes. One of the things that is very illuminating is that they have 27 writers for the blog. I used this example to try to convince my own company to not make the blog the realm of just one person, but to open it up to a team of people. This gets a wider variety of content, more content and less writing for each person. With 27 writers, they can post once a week yet each writer is only having to write 2 blog posts a year. I'd say that's pretty manageable!

Nice suggestion, thanks! Their blog is impressive and it looks like they have the whole company bought into contributing.
Thanks!

I'm not sure that they count because their really an airline, but they do a lot of online selling and that's Southwest Airlines. Their blog is one of the best http://www.blogsouthwest.com/ - I just think it's a great model for a business blog. I think they are getting upwards of 200K visitors a month too, pretty amazing.

Thanks Brad!
Sorry for the confusion... I was looking for an ecommerce site that nails their blogging efforts!

One of my favorites is Backcountry.com's The Goat (http://thegoat.backcountry.com/)

Web page or blog ? Which one is preferable
Hello, For one of our sites, 19 keywords are ranking on Home page. But, the home page doesn't have content with those keywords. I am afraid that with Google updates, we will eventually lose all the ranking position for these keywords. Should we ask the client to create blog around those keywords or create separate pages ? Thanks

Internal blog with history and some SEO value versus new external blogs with specialized content?
We operate a blog inside a folder on our site and considering the launch of 4 highly focused blogs with specialized content which are now categories on the internal blog. Wondering if there is more value in using the external new blogs or just keep growing the internal blog content. Does fact that the internal blog is buried amongst millions of pages have any impact if we want the content indexed and value given to the links from the blog content to our main site pages.

Blog Content if Google has stated it doesn't like your blog?
Hi guys, In the new 'mobile usability' tab in Webmaster Tools, Google has stated that our blog isn't offering a good experience for users. Something we already knew and I want to change, but I can't get the budget approved to complete the work. I was just wondering if you think Google isn't going to hold my content very high as a result. I want to produce more content on our blog around our valuable keywords in hope to improve our rankings, but if Google isn't holding our site in high regard I'm thinking there may not be much point in it. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Brian

Loads of Blog Search Results showing up in SERPs - What's the best way to remove?
Our client has a good number of results showing up in SERPs that are search results pages produced by Blog posts. Unfortunately all these results have exactly the same Title tag and it has nothing to do with the blog content which means they are unlikely to help us much. We can’t create a 301 redirect because there is no page to redirect. There is no blog page we can re=canonical to either. The content on these pages is a short list of blog posts by each author. They are not true “Author” pages that would have a URL structure like this: your company.com/author/joeblow Our plan is to use GWMT's URL removal tool to request remove of these pages. (and then try to stop new results from being created) We are doing this to get low-value content out of the SERP. Is there a better way to remove these search results? Any drawback in removing them in GWMTs? Thanks.

What are the effects of posting on a blog site using copied content from your site if you source the site on the blog site?
I have noticed that some of my pages from my site are posted to different blog sites and directory submissions they are word for word what is on my site but at the bottom of the page it does list my site as the source and there are links in the text back to my site. Is this going to negatively effect my rankings or is it ok since my site is sourced in the article?

Guest blog on my web site.
**I received this email from a lady who wishes to write articles and post them on my site under my news section . Ok, if its quality I dont mind hiring somebody to create a post. Her proposal is as follows and this is her email :-**Basically what I can offer is to write a couple of articles for your News section, something fun and interesting for your visitors which will hopefully drag some traffic your way. I could make them well suited to your site and I could include in each a link to a client of mine - one who wants to be exposed on a good site like yours - and for doing that I can offer you compensation of £33 for each client link - 1 per article. For example, one client is Watches of Switzerland, so I could write an article about ideal wedding gifts for a groom maybe, or something about a perfect Honeymoon destination like Switzerland, and slip a link in there. Other clients include Weddingsite and Lampcommerce - which could be included in something about making a matrimonial home. There are a few stipulations I would need to abide by, like - the article would need to be 500 words, it would need the link to be a 'do follow' link, it would need a picture or two, and it would need a couple of 'sacrifice links' (just links to Wikipedia or something to make it more Google friendly). Question. Is this what a guest article is ? and also is the format ok ? Sorry if this seems a dumb question but still learning guys . King regards to everyone Peter

What is Moz Community and Blog Commenting System Built on?
Hi, I love the Moz blog and community so I'm just curious what it is built on. Is it built on something like a bbPress or is it custom system built in-house? Thanks!

Corporate blog
We are starting a corporate blog and were discussing the best place to put it in terms of the URL. Would http://blog.companyabc.com be OK, or is another structure better? Like http://www.companyabc.com/blogtitle/?
