I recently submitted our main url to BOTW and Yahoo directory, Typically how long does it take for google to index these?

Well, these links like any/all/most other links add to your domain authority and then based on how competitive your niche is, you may or may not see any real effect just from doing these 2 directory submissions.

My experience, has been a few days usually. It really depends on how deep the categories are.

I wouldn't expect a large boost immediately after them being indexed or cached.

Tons of Links from Low-Quality Image Directories?

Hi Mozzers, I've been receiving a ton of links from low-quality websites that look like image directories or search engines? They are displaying the images that are hosted on our own website. They all seem very similar. Has anyone experienced this and are these harmful? Should they be left alone or disavowed or..? Deciding on directories

Hi guys, I've read lots of different opinions on directories and it seems that directories are still a useful part of an SEO strategy. What I'm struggling to understand however is how to know which directories are worth listing with and which may get the company a slapped wrist from Google. Paid for News Media backlinks

We have been lucky to have some great coverage and resultant backlinks on some very high domain authority news sites such as The Times in the UK. Now that a lot of their content (including our articles and backlinks) is now gated because they are a subscription based, does: Google site attribute the same domain authority to the subscription sites? Does Google site crawl this content? Does the same Google Juice flow once the site is gated? Is the value of 'paid for content sites' eroded?

Why don't directory backlinks show up in Open Link Explorer?

Why don't we see linking root domains like yelp, google, yahoo, etc? Is there any way to get a more accurate list of links to a domain where webmaster tools are not an option?

Directories and duplicate content.

Part of our link building strategy for a dentist is to submit their site to several relevant directories. If I enter the same description in each directory, is it possible that Google will consider this duplicate content and prevent link juice from being passed back to the dentist's site? How do directories that pull listings from DMOZ work?

I've listed an example below. I see these all the time, where a directory pulls it's listings from DMOZ. So you would naturally assume that if you're in DMOZ, you would get these links, but that's not the case. This particular link was picked up by OSE so I'm wondering what the quality of these links really are and if they're legit? Also, if you go to the main subdomain the page just says "Buy shirts".
