Would removing high dynamic pages though nofollow help or hurt?
-
We have a sub-domain that is hosted by a third party. These pages are highly dynamic (change daily or more often) as they are product search results. Unfortunately they are raising several errors and warnings including
- duplicate page content, title missing or empty, long URLs, overly dynamic URL
Would putting nofollows on the links to this sub-domain help, hurt or not affect page rank?
As an example:
Links in the middle of this page (prices) http://targetvacations.ca go to a page such as this http://travel.targetvacations.ca/cgi-bin/resultadv.cgi?id=16294922&code_ag=tgv&alias=tgv which is then redirected to a dynamic URL and presents the results.

Tried rel=canonical tags in the ? Usually clears up dup content issues better than noindex

Yeah a page like this should be noindexed. You can do that in robots.txt, which you should be able to modify within your CMS or at the very least upload via FTP.
Nofollowing the links will not doing anything for you.

I updated the questions with sample pages that you can view. The real problem is that I have very limited control over the pages on the third party service and think I should nofollow the links on our home page and landing pages that I'm in control of.

Pagerank sculpting is long dead. Technically you can still do it through some creative JavaScript, but the real issue here seems that you need to noindex these pages. What kind of pages are we talking about here?
Are you using a CMS where you can easily edit permalinks? It's worth reviewing the longer ones if so.

Would you Consider this High Quality?
Hello, I have a wordpress website that i have updated with a lot of content about the products i sell. Some of the pages link back to my ecommerce website (all links are targeted at the proper/related page). I put a lot of time and effort into creating the content and providing all of the information that i think users or consumers would find useful, but the site doesn't rank at all. I'm wondering what your opinions are as to why this is not being shown in the serps. The URL is http://goo.gl/Qz5jSQ All opinions welcome. Thanks

Wrong Page is Ranking
My client is an Ecommerce reseller of a few major scooter brands. We currently rank fifth for a particular brand name but our main brand page isn't the one that ranks. Instead, it's a product page. The main brand page has an A rating from Moz for the desired keyword phrases. Neither page has any backlinks. Any ideas on why our main brand page would be outranked by a product page? What could we do to change this?

Pages vs Posts
What are your thoughts on pages vs posts? I am setting up a new blog for a client but not sure how to structure the content. I may just do posts or a whole bunch of page listed down the sidebar. It seems like my pages always rank better than my posts. Has anyone else noticed this? Could it be because of the dates tied posts?

Cnnonical Issue! Plz Help
Hi, I'm having this problem for one of my website, say www.abc.com. Certain information in the site is long and thus required to be put into several pages. For example, let say there is a section for the "List of Business Schools in Canada", this is a huge list and thus divided into several pages. The main URL is like this www.abc.com/business-schools/list-of-business-schools-in-canada.html & after on its goes on like www.abc.com/business-schools/list-of-business-schools-in-canada1.html www.abc.com/business-schools/list-of-business-schools-in-canada2.html www.abc.com/business-schools/list-of-business-schools-in-canada3.html Etc. Now as Google is considering these pages as canonical what should I do suppose do what with it? I've examine that rel="canonical" tag is used on every pages (canada1.html, canada2.html etc.) and the canonical URL is set to the main list-of-business-schools-in-canada.html page. So, why is that Google is picking this up as canonical? Have I made a mistake in placing the rel= canonical tag ? Please suggest. Thanks in advance,

How to fix duplicate page content and page titles?
Apologies in advance if this has already been answered (it probably has) - I'm just not seeing it. Is there a guide on here for how to fix the issues brought up by the crawler - specifically, things like duplicate page content, or duplicate page titles? A lot of these seem to have been created by wordpress.org combos that I didn't anticipate - i.e., category pages, author pages, etc. The crawler brings up the problems, but I don' t know where to start to go about fixing them. Also, any guide on best SEO practices or fixing optimization problems, specifically for wordpress.org blogs, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
