Setting up Webmaster Tools correctly - naked domain DNS error and sub-domains question
-
I'm trying to get our domain (verdantly.com) set up correctly in Google Webmaster Tools. Currently, I have three "sites" setup:
blog.verdantly.com (wordpress.com blog redirected to this subdomain)
The subdomain blog and www show up without errors. However, the naked domain shows a DNS error. I've checked the DNS settings at the registrar and don't see any issues.
So here are my questions:
1. Am I correct in setting up the naked domain AND the subdomains separately in Webmaster tools?
2. How do I track down / resolve the source of the DNS errors at the naked domain?
Thanks!

Hi,
Within WMT you should only really need to set on version of each subdomain, i.e
as at present, the root domain is currently redirected to the www sub domain.
In terms of the dns issues, this link should help you diagnose the issues and get you on your way to solving the problems which your registrar or hosting company will be able to aid you with depending on where your DNS is held.

If you need further assistance feel free to PM.
Cheers

What would be causing our linking domains and inbound links to decline?
I am noticing a decline in the number of our linking domains and inbound links from month to month. It isn't drastic but looking like a trend. Any reason why this would happen? I'm not sure where to start. Thanks!

Webmaster Tools V. OSE Backlinks to Disavow
Hey Everybody, So I am getting to the point where I need to disavow some backlinks. I am noticing a discrepancy between the OSE backlinks and the GWMT backlinks. My question is do I put both sets of links in the Disavow tool? Just the links from GWMT? Just the links from OSE? Etc... Etc... Thanks Everybody!

Multiple Site Errors Due to Forum
We are currently working with a website that is receiving multiple errors through their vbulletin forum. These errors include: duplicate meta descriptions duplicate title tags duplicates title tags and meta descriptions from the archives as well The forums do not drive a lot of traffic but people are active on there. Would you recommend no-indexing the entire forum plus the archives or is there a better solution for that?

"not selected" is gone from Google Webmaster Tools Index Status Advanced
Just noticed today that the "not selected" has been removed from the Index status, Advanced section of Google Webmaster Tools. Anyone know why. I've used this metric to determine how or why Google was not selecting pages, particularly to gauge canonical's, 301's and duplicate content. It will be missed if gone for good.

Can you link several sites together in Google Webmaster Tools?
I have a client saying that there is a way to link 3 separate websites (A website for each department of a company) in Google Webmaster tools to tell Google it's basically one site but really its 3. Or to tell Google it's the same company and all the sites are one. I have never heard of this & I don't see the point in making 3 separate small sites & "linking" them as one in Webmaster tools. Is there in fact a way? Am I out to lunch on what they might be referring to? I am recommending they create one larger authority site with a page on each department & earn links for each department page & provide informative unique content for each page. Thoughts? Thanks for the help!

OSE shows URLs redirecting to our custom created error page, is this a problem?.
When I check the link metrics for my product pages in OSE, it shows a message saying that the page redirects to our custom error page. This page was recently created to display when there is an error with the website. Do I need to be concerned that OSE is seeing all product pages as redirecting to this error page? Will it affect page authority etc,? I have attached a screen shot of the message that OSE displays for reference. YWbpM.jpg
