Ya, You may be right...I am Unable to find any best SEO Extension for magento.
Yes, but a combination of tools will cover all your needs. However you will have to trow a commercial extension in the mix to have s olid on page optimisation for the ecom..
As for 1.7 - i would roll back for now - there are several issues with customization ( but it depends on what you are using as theme).

Unfortunately for magento there is no best all in one SEO extension.
However you can use a combination of tools that should cover (most of) your needs.
Some of those extensions are:

Best schema option for condos / condominiums?
Hey guys, I'm doing a review on some schema on some of our sites. Most of them are generic using LocalBusiness. There are a few more specific schemas I could use, but not sure what would be the most relevant. Does anyone have any experience with Instart Logic, and its effects (if any) on SEO?
Instart Logic is a content delivery network CDN, which claims to have a positive effect on time to first bite (TTFB). Faster site = good for SEO, right? Our initial investigation seems to confirm its claims to some degree, which is great, but at the same time we think it may lower our score on Google's PageSpeed Insights tool, which sort of negates its effect in other areas. If the user experience is worse (according to Google's own tool), are we effectively shooting ourselves in the foot by concentrating on TTFB as a ranking algorithm factor? Magento Canonical & Default Robots Settings
Hello! I'm working with Magento 1.9 for an eCommerce site with several hundred products. Currently I understand it is best practices to use the Canonical tag, however I also have my default robots set to "Index, Follow". Will this cause an issue having product pages set to index, follow but also having a canonical tag included? What are some best practices regarding Magento default robots & canonical tags? Any help is appreciated.

Infinite scroll SEO
I was curious about the implications of Infinite scroll homepages on SEO, and more specifically, no-indexing subpages of the homepage (ie www.homepage.com/page/2/ ). I know its often a good practice to noindex subpages of archives, but in this case, would it be a bad idea? Thanks!

Should I bother with branded keywords in my onsite SEO improvements?
Someone recently told me that using branded keywords extensively in your copy and titles may be unnecessary so long as you have a substantial catalog of back links containing keyword rich anchor text. Can I take this to mean I can privilege non-branded terms over branded in my onsite SEO efforts?

Best meta tite - description writing tool
Hi I am in the process of writing meta titles and meta descriptions for a clients product portfolio. I have the complete list exported from the cms system in to excel. I know I can add some clever logic to build the meta information but for this purpose I want to do this manually. Does anyone have a editor online or an excel sheet that shows you the charactor limits when writing the titles and descriptions. This would be handy if someone has, otherwise it's a case of having to write the excel sheet to do this, not that hard to do but i thought i'd ask the question.
