Site Recovered from hack, should I submit a reinclusion request?
-
Hello,
The site i'm referring to is http://www.pokeronamac.com, it was hacked via something called the "WordPress Pharma Hack" http://theblawblog.wordpress.com/2012/06/21/restoring-a-pharma-hacked-wordpress-site-wp-3-4/
We restored it as far as I can tell, but if anyone can confirm this by doing a site search and not getting redirected it would be appreciated. You will see that some search results still show up as spam, but when I click on them, they 404.
I want to know If I should submit a reinclusion request, I wasn't notified by WMT of malaware, so I want to know the SOP here.
Thanks
Zach

I know a decent amount about security and I know I do not trust just Google webmaster tools to rid myself of malware. Regardless of rather you did everything perfectly you can still have times of malware on your computer that you are not yet aware of intentionally hiding from your system. use a free very accurate anti-malware system to check if it is infected. I should tell you I mean free to check not free to fix but at $80 a year and they will fix as many pages as it takes as many times as it takes in one year it is a true bargain. http://sucuri.net/
You might also want to consider using better hosting if you're using WordPress. I would strongly suggest WP engine, ZippyKid, websynthesis.com or Page.ly ( WP engine and Page.ly have pro discounts through SEOmoz)
the other thing unique about them is each of them uses server-side http://sucuri.net/
if you want I will be happy to run your URL if not please run it through the URL here http://sucuri.net/ it looks like they told you to use this product however you're running WordPress.com which is not quite the same as regular WordPress however website is a website.
I hope I was of assistance to you,
Thomas

This means that the hack was removed.
What it would do before is redirect people to their ad sites. With it 404inf, that is fine, google just has to remove this from their indicies now.

Did a site search in google and found that your descriptions see result
www.pokeronamac.com/free-soma/Buy soma (carisoprodol) online from leading trusted soma pharmacy purchase soma, order / purchase carisoprodol 350 mg online at discount price.
And when i use thecache its goes to 404 page. How did you removed the hacked code, Are you sure you have removed the hacked code. its a wired file that needs removing.
Our dev team did the hard way on one of our client site , they deleted all file on the server and installed a fresh version of wordpress.

I once had a site hit by this hack too. It's maddening. Submitting a reinclusion request isn't necessary because your site hasn't been de-indexed. You are correct that the problem pages seem to be 404s now, which is good. You have a couple of options. You can either just wait it out and those 404 pages should eventually drop out of Google's index. This takes patience, but those 404s aren't really hurting you from an SEO standpoint. However, they aren't good from a a visitor standpoint. I understand that. The other option, which also requires some time and patience, is to submit the offending 404 pages via GWT's removal too. It's a bit of a pain because you have to do them one at a time. However, because you have succeeded in getting them to 404, you shouldn't have any trouble getting them removed from Google's index.
The removal request page can be found on GWT by navigating to "Optimization" and then click on "remove URLs" - The interface will keep track of which URLs you've submitted for removal and whether or not your attempt was successful.
Good luck and I hope this helps!
Dana

Sudden traffic down after mobile site
Hi to all. I have a huge problem about my web site traffic. We published our mobile site version under mobile domain in m.etilercerrental.com. And we published mobile site sitemap under main site such as sitemap-mobile.xml and notify google from webmaster tools. After a while whole site traffic gone down so badly. Almost 60% gone down which doesnt make sense. Mobile sitemap is hosted under desktop site. And we didnt add any link to switch sites between mobile and desktop version. We automaticly redirect between desktop and mobile versiyons by detecting useragent. One another this is we have announcement section in dekstop version but we dont have it in mobile. But we are not making any redirection to mobile site when user visits the announcement section even by mobile phone. Because we are not displaying it in mobile version.

Why can no tool crawl this site?
I am trying to perform a crawl analysis on a client's website at https://www.bravosolution.com I have tried to crawl it with IIS for SEO, Sreaming Frog and Xenu and not one of them makes it further than the home page of the site. There is nothing I can see in the robots.txt that is blocking these agents. As far as I can see, Google is able to crawl the site although they have noticed a significant drop in organic traffic. Any advise would be very welcome Regards Danny

Why would this site outrank a Pr2 site with higher domain authority?
I am trying to get a pr2 site to be on top 7 local spot for the keyword Van Nuys Bail bonds but have discovered a site which has barely any back links and is not even a year old on top results. Their backlinks are from lower authority domains than what we have. How could this site be beating a 7 year old pr2 website? The site I'm working on is http://bbbail.com/ The site that is ranking in 5th spot local with pr0 is http://www.vipbailbonds.org/ is it maybe because it is a .org site? Also I notice that all websites in top spots have www, could that be a factor as well?

Redirecting the .com of our site
Hey guys, A company I consult for has a different site for its users depending on the geography. Example: When a visitor goes to www.company.com if the user is from the EU, it gets redirected to http://eu.company.com If the user is from the US, it goes to http://us.company.com And so on. I have two questions: Does having a redirect on the .com will influence rankings on each specific sub-site? I suspect it will affect the .com since it will simply not get indexed but not sure if affects the sub domains. The content on this sub-sites are not different (I´m still trying to figure out why they are using the sub-domains). Will they get penalized for duplicate content? Thanks!

What can we do to improve our site
Hi. I am hoping that some of you can help me with the in2town site www.in2town.co.uk The site is a news/lifestyle magazine site. The site is a cross between, huffington post, digital spy, female first and the sun newspaper. Basically the site is a news site as well as covering showbiz news, travel news, health news and advice etc What i would like is for people to look at the site and let me know what they feel i should do to improve the site to make it better for our readers and to gain more readership. I would also like to hear from people on how they find moving around the site as well as the speed of the site. At the moment the site is with an american hosting company and i am in the process of talking to UK hosting companies to move the site. The site is currently on a dedicated server. It would mean a lot if people could give me their advice on how to improve the site and make it a beter experience for our readers while at the same time being able to generate income with the site. Just a quick note, all content is original and we have a number of people who write for the site. many thanks

Why is this site ranking so good?
Site in question: http://bit.ly/aBvVbm Our main competitor in the UK seems to be ranking extremely good for the keyword "jigsaw puzzles" even though their linking profile doesn't seem all that great? They mainly have site-wide links on 2 of their other ecommerce sites which seem to be given them their ranking power as this equals to 100's of links. Does sitewide links on 2 sites really give this much ranking power or am I missing something?

Asking to remove links from other sites
How hard is it to get people to take off links that point to your site that are on theirs? I have about 4 sites that I would like my link OFF of their blogroll because I think I was hit by the penguin update because of that. Do you know if there is anything you can do if they DON'T take it off?
