Is bounce rate based off of visits or unique visitors in GA?
-
I feel like a noob for asking but I have to know
-
Trust me this is most difficult question, and often many people are confuse about mysterious bounce rate metric.
Bounce rate is simply request to page on server. No matter request is from human or some javascript call.
Technically it is
- The percentage of website visitors who see just one page on your site.
- The percentage of website visitors who stay on the site for a small amount of time (usually five seconds or less).
I would suggest to give priority for some visual sciences like "hitmap" or "Page Overlay".
Do not rely on analytics numbers. It is always better to have some advance segments to measure visitor engagements & content loved by users.
In summary, Our prime concern is content consumption and visitor engagement wrt goals and not detailed research on Visits vs Unique visitors.
Hope this will help.

Less than 7% bounce rate
I've just taken on a new client and on first look at their Google Analytics they are getting a bounce rate between 7% and 0%. Frankly I'm amazed if this is correct as between 1 April 2017 and 21 June 2017 they've driven 6403 session to the site from a range of referrers as well as AdWords (which has a 0% bounce rate), so traffic is pretty good. I've never seen such a low bounce rate which is making me suspicious, what can I do to check it's all recording properly? Any other ideas or have I found a near perfect site in terms of bounce? The url is http://knuma.co.uk/

Weird URL Structure in GA
Hey everyone, Thanks in advance for any insight on this. I've been researching it quite a bit on Google and haven't found anything yet. In Analytics, under our pages report, we're getting a lot of pages that look like this: www.execucar.com/https://www.execucar.com or www.execucar.com/https://www.execucar.com/locations/orlando-car-service Any thoughts on how to fix this? These pages don't exist...I'm at such a loss.

Changing UX for different types of visitors
If we want to change the UX for different types of visitors (ex: direct, google PPC, google organic, bing organic, etc.) what is the best way to do it? With Universal Analytics, where can we find the source and medium?

Does Audience Overview in goole analytics contain visits from adwords.
Hi everyone I set up a new adwords account for a company and according to adwords we received 700 hits to the site but none showed up in analytics and no enquiries were made. Now the two accounts (adwords and analytics) weren't connected at the time but I should have been able to see the increased visits in analytics anyway as it was a very new site and had no real traffic yet. Someone at Google repeatedly told me that "Audience Overview" (unique visitors) doesn’t include adwords visits only organic traffic. Is this right? Maybe I'm wrong but I always thought it included everything well an estimation anyway. If anyone could help that would be great as it seems a little fishy. Many Thanks,

Will javascript generated links affect my bounce rate?
Hi all, I run a site called Applicable Jobs (http://www.applicablejobs.com) and from analyising my analytics I notice my bounce rate is unusually high at around 85%. I'm keen to get this right down as I've read recently that a high bounce rate is a metric Google uses in determining positioning in the SERPs. I honestly don't think it's the quality of my content because I feel it's genuinely useful to my target audience but I'm wondering if the way my jobs list is generated is causing an issue. At the moment I have my jobs listings generated through javascript so I can have nice effects and use a bit of ajax but if Google crawls it, it obviously won't be able to see the listings. So I'm wondering if when a user comes to the site and they click on one of the job listings, does the Google analytics code recognise that click because that link is generated through javascript? Thanks
