Is bounce rate based off of visits or unique visitors in GA?
-
I feel like a noob for asking but I have to know
-
Trust me this is most difficult question, and often many people are confuse about mysterious bounce rate metric.
Bounce rate is simply request to page on server. No matter request is from human or some javascript call.
Technically it is
- The percentage of website visitors who see just one page on your site.
- The percentage of website visitors who stay on the site for a small amount of time (usually five seconds or less).
I would suggest to give priority for some visual sciences like "hitmap" or "Page Overlay".
Do not rely on analytics numbers. It is always better to have some advance segments to measure visitor engagements & content loved by users.
In summary, Our prime concern is content consumption and visitor engagement wrt goals and not detailed research on Visits vs Unique visitors.
Hope this will help.

Weird URL Structure in GA
Hey everyone, Thanks in advance for any insight on this. I've been researching it quite a bit on Google and haven't found anything yet. In Analytics, under our pages report, we're getting a lot of pages that look like this: www.execucar.com/https://www.execucar.com or www.execucar.com/https://www.execucar.com/locations/orlando-car-service Any thoughts on how to fix this? These pages don't exist...I'm at such a loss.

Images Getting Indexed Making for Low Engagements Times in GA
I have quite a few images that are being indexed for popular search terms and are getting clicks. This site has a 0-10 second engagement of 69%. I would like to eliminate these images from the equation because I tend to think they are hurting my "quality score" in organic Google rankings. How do you keep these images from ranking? I suppose I could rename them. Should I disallow the images folder? I hate to do that, because some of my images turn up in local searches, which is good. I would rather keep those. But what is best practice? A little background info, this is a local service site. So the images that are ranking are coming up for a broad national type search. This has 0 value for the site. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks! Kathy

So my question is please... "Do i have to add additional tracking code to Google analytics as explained here - https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/gaTrackingSocial " Thanks in advance,

Increase in 'Googlebot-Image' visits in analytics
Hi, I noticed a substantial increase in 'Googlebot-Image' visits data under Technology>Browser & OS in Google analytics for a few clients. Is this a bug? Are there any known fixes apart from just adding a filter to exclude the data? Regards Niladri

Bounce rate calculation
Could anyone help out with a bounce rate query please. A website of mine, an affiliate website offering product reviews, has a bounce rate of 82%. I am puzzled a little as to how this is calculated. Is it only a bounce if the user goes from the search engine to my site and then back to the search engine? Or would search engine to my sites to the affiliates site via the link on my sites also count as a bounce? With a site of this nature the goal would be to get as many people visiting the merchant as possible and so a high level of bounce from me to them would be ideal Thanks, Carl
