Removing Tag Cloud to Decrease the number of On-Site Links?

I have website which has a tag cloud at the footer. This tag cloud or tag box has about 40 links pointing to different words(tags) pages.
I believe that the tags are hardly ever clicked on by visitors, since its at the footer.
If the tag cloud is removed would this decrease the number of on-site links? According crawl diagnostics summary I have 195 pages with too many links.
Would removing it help? And what kind changes can I expect if they removed (seo wise)?

It's always a good call to remove unwanted links, links that user's don't use. Sometimes these pages are thin content pages, lead to within the site duplicate content issues as well. I would strongly recommend removing the links, but then just with this change, expecting a major change, I guess not, but then it depends upon all the other metrics of your website.
It might also make sense to consider doing a no-index on them. Is this a wordpress blog ? If yes, you can use All-In-One SEO ro Yoast SEO Plugin to noindex on you tag pages.
Then look at your website and see if you see any SERP movements and continue to audit the site and refine the structure, add new content, build links and repeat. It's a continuous process you know I am sure

Site Wide Links
Howdy Moz! So our agency has been around for long enough to have a few sites we've built that have our credit in their footer resulting in a site wide link. Mostly just our name. We've heard that Google does not particularly like site wide links, should we go through and remove some of these old links?

Duplicate title tag

/extra-services/car-pick-up-service-146.html (1) /extra-services/transportation--car-rails--146.html (2) According to my sitemap the first URL is right (1). But the second URL is wrong, I don't know it occur here.0 -
Are Back Links King
We have worked as closely as possible to the guidelines and advice on this forum, if we compare our on page Analsis with other companies in the same field as ours we have a far better site as far as SEO is concerned, our DA authority is higher and most of our page authority is higher but we just cannot seem to get up to their level in the search engines, one site that is in competiton with us do not use Facebook and also they do not use Twitter very much, I looked at some of their backlinks and their top one which was a blog had not been updated since 2011, over the years we have amassed far more what I would call worthless links as this was the done thing then, how can I get on the right track, are there any companies who could assess our site for a reasonable cost to point us in the right direction, we are doing our own blog, Facebook, Twitter, Onlywire?

Do https sites rank as well as http sites?
2 Questions: Question 1 - We currently have our entire site running on https (the http pages 301-redirect to the https versions). Assuming that the https pages load as quickly as the http versions, is it a problem that the entire site is https? The only official answer I've been able to find is this 2011 video where Matt Cutts basically says "I don't know" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeFo4ytOk8M Question 2 - Is there any problem with having half our site running on https only (with the http pages redirected), and the other half (our blog) running on http only (with all https blog pages redirected to the http versions)? Where does link juice flow on a cloaked link?
Hello, I use a wordpress plug in that allows me to display tot he user any link I want from my domain, so it might be like: www.domain.com/gift-card, but the actual link is www.someaffiliatelink/w09fjai;owfoienw <--- and then a bunch of crap after the domain for the affiliate link. It uses the common technique of an iframe to hide the actual url from the user and show the one that I want them to see. What I am wondering is, does link juice in this case flow to my site, or to their site? And also, do you have any comments regarding this type of link cloaking? Thanks. Thanks
