Is my schema implemented correctly and not spammy?
-
i already used the validation tool from Google. It tell's me it's implemented, but i would like to know specifically if everything is implemented correctly and in a non spam way.
Here is a product link to test: http://www.suddora.com/pink-sweatbands-wholesale-pink-wristbands.html

People ask similar questions regularly. I just saw you had no answer and wanted to be sure someone had given it a shot for you.
I would suggest go to Schema.org and to GWT and read the info there. By using the tool you confirmed that it was correct. What you don't want to do is corrupt what the intention is by adding in your url, etc. Keep the item property what it is and keep it simple. Remember its semantic web for a reason.
Hope it helps, -
I posted this 2 days ago and I understand this is (kind of) new idea so i don't expect everyone to jump on it, I admit it's hilarious that i put bump! haha.
I just want to make sure our dev did it correctly, as he is not SEO saavy. I'm pretty sure he did but just using the community to verify...
-
Bump doesn't work here, as there's no user-facing way to see most recent responses. Also, four hours isn't a long time at all to go without a response on the Q&A forums.

Thanks for finding that broken link! We donate and work directly with Susan G Komen
We do this mostly on our other website Custom On It, for custom promotional items.
Anything you can find would be great for Schema. We have it implemented but just not sure if it is correct.
-
Not sure what bump is? I am older so...you know how we are not quite as UTD.
Edit: Had to know so went and checked it out. You can tell I do not spend a lot of times on general or other forums. My guess it the tactic won't work on this one (These guys are fairly sharp at moz.) But, best of luck.
Of course I am assuming you mean to 'bump' this to top of Q&A for some reason. Frankly, if you use the tools on moz you will see that the links are no followed from here. If this was not what you meant/intended, my apologies, LMK.

Paul,
I have one question I have kicked to our head of Dev and will answer the Schema question with his answer to me. On the whole it looks ok. However, here is your content:
Pink sweatbands are great for sporting events. These wholesale pink wristbands work to prevent sweat from affecting your game. They also have a very stylish look to them and are comfortable to wear. Some organization use pink sweatbands to support breast cancer awareness during sports games or events. You really can't go wrong with these pink sweat wristbands.
When I look at this it appears not "Spammy," but misleading. First your link re breast cancer awareness is a 404. I have no idea given that this is the month for breast cancer awareness how long it has been as such. But it looks as if you might in some way be doing something to support breast cancer awareness. Are you? Or, are you simply selling pink wristbands with and without the ribbon?
My suggestion is this: If you are not in any way contributing to the American Cancer Society or another organization tied to providing solace, research, or information to women and their families regarding breast cancer, you should so state that you are not. If you are, you should state plainly who the contributions go to and what amount per sale goes to them.
As a Registered Nurse who has seen too much, I will tell you this, if you agree to donate all proceeds above the actual cost of the bracelets or shipping to the American Cancer Society, my agency, upon receipt of a copy of your cancelled check (or other instrument) will match your donation (it must be at least $100) up to $500. Along with that, I will personally look over your site and will give you a written set of tips to improve your site and will provide up to one hour of phone consultation to you as well.
Best,
Robert

Allowing correct crawlers for GeoIP Redirect
Hi All, I am working on an international site and we have started running into issues with crawlers successfully crawling the site. GeoIPEnable On Redirect one country RewriteEngine on
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | michaelpw
RewriteCond %{ENV:GEOIP_COUNTRY_CODE} ^US$
RewriteCond %{HTTP:X-Host} !.nexcesscdn.net$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.)$ https://us.website.com/ [R,L] The main reason for working on a hard GEOIP redirect would be that we are unable to show certain products in certain regions, the customer should not be given the option which is best practice. Can anyone advise? Thanking in advance.0 -
Schema for restaurants and menus?
Hi all, Anyone have experience with using Schema for restaurants other than the normal local business NAP? Is there a way to use Schema markup for food menus as well? Examples and schema code much appreciated 🙂 Thanks!

Is this correct?
I noticed Moz using the following for its homepage Is this best practice though? The reason I ask is that, I use and I've been reading this page by Google http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/5-common-mistakes-with-relcanonical.html 5 common mistakes with rel=canonical Mistake 2: Absolute URLs mistakenly written as relative URLs
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Bio-RadAbsThe tag, like many HTML tags, accepts both relative and absolute URLs. Relative URLs include a path “relative” to the current page. For example, “images/cupcake.png” means “from the current directory go to the “images” subdirectory, then to cupcake.png.” Absolute URLs specify the full path—including the scheme like http://. Specifying (a relative URL since there’s no “http://”) implies that the desired canonical URL is http://example.com/example.com/cupcake.html even though that is almost certainly not what was intended. In these cases, our algorithms may ignore the specified rel=canonical. Ultimately this means that whatever you had hoped to accomplish with this rel=canonical will not come to fruition.

Uncontrollable Spammy Backlinks - Disavow or Not?
Hey Mozzers, I have ran a few different backlink reports, and I noticed that one of my sites has an incredible amount of spammy backlinks. These were not done by a prior SEO, they are simmply spammy links that were scraped and inserted on terrible sites, forums, directories, etc. 100% uncontrollable. The anchor text includes anything from the domain to "live sex" and "victoria's secret coupons". There are probably close to 700 or so of these backlinks from around 150-200 domains. I have read that one should contact the webmaster, and use disavow as a last resort, but I am not sure if that advice is for spammy link building techniques, which we have no history of doing. Is this normal? What is the best way to handle this? Is it likely that these are affecting this site's ranking at the moment? The number of spammy links drastically affects the ratio of quality backlinks to spammy backlinks. This is so frustrating...

How to properly implement HTTPS?
We are looking at implementing HTTPS for our site. I have done a little research but can't find anything recent, http://moz.com/community/q/duplicate-content-and-http-and-https is the most recent thing I found. Does everything in the answers still apply? Should I just do a 301 redirect to all new https? Or add a canonical tag?

Any solutions for implementing 301s instead of 302 redirects in SharePoint 2010?
We have an issue with Google indexing multiples of each page in our sitemap (www.upmc.com). We've tried using rel_canonical, but it appears that GoogleBot is not honoring our canonicals. Specifically, any of the pages Google indexes that end without a file extension, such as .aspx are 302 redirected to a .aspx page. Example - The following pages all respond as 302 redirects to http://www.upmc.com/services/pages/default.aspx http://www.upmc.com/services/ http://www.upmc.com/services http://www.upmc.com/Services/ http://www.upmc.com/Services Has anyone been able to correct this inherent issue with Sharepoint so that the redirects are at least 301s?
