No index?
-
Hi,
I have about 600 posts and most of them are not really optimized (some of them are flash photo gallery).
Should I do no index them?
They are just too many to optimize them.
My website is http://www.soobumimphotography.com/
Thank you

Hi,
in my opinion you should 'no index' sites with high bounce rate compare to short time of visit (less than 10 sek). It's true or real bounce rate - visitor spent less than 10 sek on the one site and then left website.
Also good idea is no index or even delete posts with 'heavy' content with long time of page load ... as I think flash galleries could be heavy. Page loading time (long) could also increase bounce rate.
So you have a choice to have 600 posts or ... maybe 100 good posts ... good content vs average or poor content.
Answer is simple

Unless they are creating duplicate content issues or other problems, I personally would not noindex them.
Side note: Did you know your Image Search at the bottom of each page takes you off-site to this location "http://pa.photoshelter.com/c/thadallender/search"? I'd fix the action of that form or remove the widget until it's fixed if I were you. Right now it is not searching your site and is sending people off your site.

Can service request pages be indexed for a service site?
I think there is no point in indexing service request pages for a service site. And it causes the indexing of the main pages to be done with a delay. Does anyone have experience with indexing service request pages and their results?

What is the perfect way to handle multiple sitemaps index in Search Console?
Hello friends, I have this doubt for a long and i want to share it with you. In our agency many clients have a PHP template for the home page of their sites, and also have a blog with wordpress as CMS. When i am optimizing sitemaps, I have two separate files, an index of Sitemaps created with Wordpress SEO by Yoast (which inside has separate Sitemaps tags, categories, posts, pages, authors, etc.) and on the other hand the home page sitemap with the subsections. As you know the sitemap generated by "Wordpress SEO by Yoast" is dynamic as it creates the sitemap according to current site content, and is updated every time a new entry is raised or modify any URL. This makes it very practical. I can not have a unique index sitemap sitemaps nesting inside another, as it is not allowed by Google or Sitemap protocol. I read in the Google Support you can upload multiple sitemaps to Search Console but does not say anywhere on upload multiple sitemaps index, or a combination thereof. In my case, I would have to upload two separately files, the dynamically generated with wordpress and the manual created for the PHP template. In my opinion there is no problem and Google will index everything properly performing it this way, but I wanted to share it with you to see how you solve this problem and what experiences had. Thanks and best regards.

Website Not Indexing
My website is not indexing due to someone's complaint in Google that was registered in 2013. The complaint says I am using copyrighted images of someone else on my website but those images were immediately removed by me. I just came to know about this complaint and lodged my problem in Lumen database. Already 14 days has passed but still my page is not indexed. Can anyone please help me?

Boat broker - issues with duplicate content and indexing search results
Hello, I have read a lot about optimising product pages and not indexing search results or category pages as ideally a person should be directed straight to a product page. I am interested in how best to approach a site that is listing second hand products for sale - essentially a marketplace of second hand goods (in my case, www.boatshed.com - international boat brokers). For example, we currently have 5 Colvic Sailer 26 boats for sale across the world - that is 5 boats of the same make and model but differing years, locations, sellers and prices. My concern is with search results and 'category' pages. Unlike typical e-commerce sites, when someone searches for a 'Colvic sailer 26 for sale' I want them to go to a search results style page as it is more useful for them to see a list of boats than one random one that Google decides is most important (or possibly one it can match by location). Currently we have 3 different URL types to show search results style pages (i.e. paginated lists of boats that include name, image and short description):

manufacturer URL's e.g. http://www.boatshed.com/colvic-manufacturer-145.html
category URL's e.g. barges http://www.boatshed.com/barges-category-55.html
and normal search results e.g. dosearch.php?form_boattype_textbox=&.... I have noindexed the search results pages but our category and manufacturer URLs show up in search results and ultimately these are pages I want people to land on. I am however getting duplicate content warnings in Moz. Most boats are in several categories and all will come up on 1 manufacturer and one manufacturer and model page. Both sets of URL's are in my opinion needed; lots of users search for exact makes / models and lots of users just search for the type of boat e.g. 'barge for sale' so both sets of landing pages are useful. Any suggestions or thoughts greatly appreciated Thanks Ben0 -
