I have 1787 4XX (Client Error) in my wordpress blog and I have no idea how to get rid of them ? Can someone please help

Are you all set with this? I'm crawling the site now with Screaming Frog and am not seeing the 404 errors any longer, so perhaps it has been fixed?

Hey there! Been reading around and I believe that there isn't a perfect answer to this question, but I surely want to know your opinion. It's a fact that google likes new content but also updated content, so whats your position concerning the wordpress articles. Meaning, when I decide to update articles from 2011 on its content, should I also update the date? If I make a search and an article from 2011 will be shown, its unlikely that I will click on it... So that you can understand my point.

How many categories should you have within a blog / Wordpress Site for SEO?

Hi Guys I am just wondering whether or not for SEO purposes it is better to have a small number of categories for your blog posts to fit into as opposed to numerous ones. The reason I ask is that I have one site which is fairly new to the search engines - 8 months old which has 7 general categories within the blog for instance "rail contractors", "railway construction" "airport construction" etc I have another site which is 10 years old which has built up 25 different types of categories for instance brand design, brand development, brand management (i guess you could put all these under 1 category "branding"? We've been writing lots of press for both sites... yet the younger site is getting more coverage on Google page 1. Would this be because the blogs / press are more concentrated under a specific category as opposed to being spread thinly throughout the site? Any help would be appreciated. Debs 🙂

What Should I Do With 404 Errors?

I got lots of 404 errors due to the fact that I removed some crappy content. Do I need to worry about this? I know eventually they will go away when Google crawls the whole website and doesn't find any more links to those pages.

Duplicate content problems, so why does WordPress post onto Tumblr?

Hi Everyone, Basically I know that if you have duplicate content your ranking is effected! This I understand, so why is it that WordPress has the option to post your blog entry straight onto your paired Tumblr account? Surely if this can be done, I can have the same content on the company website but also on WP and Tumblr? Or is there some sort of method to how it works specifically for those 2 websites? I just launched a WordPress blog on our website and SEOMoz is reporting duplicate content on all of our tags. We only have one post so far, so of course each tag is going to be duplicate. Should I no-follow those tags for the time being?
