Is Article Length A Factor For Keyword Stuffing?
-
I've noticed that the SEOmoz On Page analysis tool sets a limit of 15 occurrences for a keyword on a page.
It seems this is not dependent on the page length?
Is that not relevant?
Thanks!
-
Yes I agree that keywords should appear naturally and a good quality content writer never worries about the keywords. Though he/she should be aware of the keywords. Further, its also suggested that article heading should have at least one keyword, making KWs in bold and using KWs mostly in first 2 parah is also suggested.
All the above factors are good as far as they are done naturally and as far as it delivers good value to user.
-
Yeah, that was also my view.
However after being hit by 'something' (EMD or Panda 20) I am desperately trying to work out what that something could be.
-
It should be dependent upon page length.
I completely ignore such rules and simply write naturally.
Occurrences per page and density are hogwash.
-
That is a good baseline figure.
I also read somewhere (might've been SEOMOZ) that a good formula to determine whether or not you're keyword stuffing is: #/keywords (divided by) #/total words = >5.5%.
Hope this helps.

Inserting Keywords in Web Pages
Hello! Question: When I add chosen keywords to my site (in urls, title tags, meta description, page content, headers, etc), do I need to put the words on my webpage exactly as they appear in my keyword research? So if I searched "therapist bay area" and I want to include these keywords, for example, must I use those words in that order in a sentence or header on my homepage? Or is it enough to include each word somewhere on the page?

Keyword Cannibalization vs. Optimizing Site
I am in the process of optimizing our website and I am having a hard time reconciling two best practices I have found on Moz. 1. You should avoid having multiple pages focus on the same keyword because you will lose some control of which result will show. 2. You should identify your core keywords and weave these keywords multiple times (naturally) throughout your site. I have spent months identifying our top 7 keywords and am working through the site now. The first piece of advice keeps giving me pause. Can anyone weigh in with other considerations or advice on how I can reconcile these two strategies. Thank you

Title tag length
Hi, I am fairly new to SEO and have just noticed the end of my title text has been cut off by Google in the serps results. Everything i have read tells me titles should be maximum of 70 characters, however, Google is only displaying 54. See below Security systems | wireless | battery powered | Police... Nobody else on the page is showing more than 54 characters. Am i missing something obvious? Any and all help gratefully appreciated. Thanks Si

How does Google Detect which keywords my website should show up for in the SE?
When I checked my Google Webmaster Tools I found that my website is showing up for keywords that I didn't optimize for ... for example I optimize my website for "funny pictures with captions", and the website is showing up for "funny images with captions". I know that this is good, but the keyword is dancing all around, sometimes I search for "funny pictures with captions" and I show up in the 7th page, and some time I don't show up. and the same goes for the other keyword. of course I am optimizing for more than two keywords but the results is not consistent. my question is how does Google decide which keywords you website should show up for? Is it the on-page keywords?, or is it the off-page anchor text keywords? Thank you in advance ...

Elements of a Quality Article
In your opinion, what are the signals Google uses to judge the quality of an article or post? Here are some of my ideas: Reactions: Comment history Sharing (Twitter / FB / Social Bookmarks...etc) Citations / Mentions / Pingbacks Word count Content (Topical and qualitative analytsis, uniqueness) Domain (Qualitative analysis of domain article is published on) Use of images and media Use of references Timeliness (News, current affairs) Presence of date of publishing Spam filters: Anchor text usage Number, type and relation of outgoing links Content (Topical, semantic, qualitative analysis including keyword usage) Author data: Presence of author name Connection / link to author profile (hyperlink, rel tag, meta) Reputation of author (prior content, domains published and reactions) Looking forward to your contributions.
