Moving content archive from a new blog to a mature content website?
-
I'm working with a publisher who has a young blog that is 6 mos old and is considering folding it and moving it's archive of content into a relavent, more mature website. This blog already has numerous links directing readers to this more mature website. My question is would it make more sense to leave the blog in place and continue to publish new posts and benefit from the link relationship with the mature website? Considering the blog is relatively new, would it matter much if we folded and moved it's archive?

Thanks!

Then yes, I would migrate the archives to the new site if it was me.
-
Separate domains.
-
Are they both on the same domain?
From a maintenance standpoint, I think it makes sense to move its archive to the new website. I wouldn't want to maintain old content on an old site forever. By maintenance, I mean continuing to update to the latest versions of the blog software, plugins, themes, etc...
With proper redirects in place, you shouldn't lose much in the migration.

Linking strategy between my websites
Dear all, I am quite new in SEO and I am very confused about linking strategy. I have several websites proposing proofreading services in French and I don't know how to link them together so they get the best chance to have a good ranking. What strategy would you suggest ? Thanks a lot for your help, Yafiz

I have done whatever i could regarding Onpage SEO, but i simply have no idea where do i start from with link building. Blog comments question
Hi, I don't tend to blog comment that much unless it's actually a genuine comment as in, my first thought wasn't gaining a link back. What is the best practise for this type of link building? This is how I do it (When I am looking to gain a link back) title - brand name website - root domain comment - I try and go above and beyond with this, take it out of the spam arena by reading the article and then replying with at least 100 words referencing to part of the article. Would you classify the above as the wrong way about it? I know some say no-follow links (most blog comments out there) don't count but when I see the external link pop up in WMT it does make me think no-follow links count for something. Cheers

Guest Blogging Questions
Hi a few questions, 1. Is a anchor link in the body better then in the byline? 2. If 2 links are in the body will Google only count the first link? 3. Do you need a unique byline for each guest post, will having duplicate bylines not work as well as unique? Cheers

SeoMoz duplicate content
Hi all, There's a lot of controversy around duplicated content. If you google "The New SEO Process (Quit Being Kanye)" you'll get tones of results with a copied content from the original article. How does google manages this? (duplicated or not) Is this good for the original content/website? Thank you Cornel

How to Outsource Guest Blog Posts?
We have operated a small ecommerce company for over 10 years in the home and garden industry. Â Our product niche is small and there is not a lot of "community" around it as it is just not a social product, yet the product is interesting. Â Our internal time is very limited and therefore we have hired external help over the years to do our SEO. Â As you all know, this is very challenging to do affordably and not get spammers. As part of our SEO strategy we would like to do some guest blog posts but do not have the internal time to research and build the relationships needed. Â We basically have no internal writing skills and have always hired writers to do our blog postings. My question is if you had to hire someone to do guest blog posts how would you go about finding the right person to use? Â Of course an excellent writer would be required. Â What would you expect to pay for this type of service? Â Would you do it hourly or "pay per live post". Any ideas on where to find this type of person? Â Thanks.

Website not appearing in top 100
A few months ago, we launched the website www.gunnersdirect.com. The main keyword target for this website was "arsenal shirts", which you can see is at the very start of the page title. In fairness, limited work has been done to the link building, etc due to time constaints so I would not expect it to rank at the top. However, it does not appear to rank even in the top 100. This gives me major cause for concern, as surely Google should at least recognise the website, albeit in a lowly position? Does this point to some underlying coding issue or penalty? What would you recommend we do to turn round it's fortunes?
