Why are not nofollowed links counted in On-Page Analysis Report?
-
When I run the On-Page Analysis on our homepage, the report says the page has 238 **"Internal followed links". **
Why are not nofollowed internal links counted as well? Nofollowed links have been leaking link juice for quite some time now.

Thank you, Chiaryn. What I think is relevant when it comes to links on a page is 1. Total links? If the number is high, I would look into if all those links really are necessary. Can we cut down on links that does not point to landing pages in order to give landing pages as much link juice as possible and at the same time increase the chances that those pages get crawled? We have these kind of problems on our e-commerce homepage at the moment - important product pages do not get crawled and/or get too little link juice due to way too many links. 2. Total followed links? Are there links that should be nofollowed in order to establish optimal crawl path? 3. Total external links Too few or are we unnecessarily throwing away link juice off the site? 4. Total followed external links A healthy number or does it look spammy? Best regards Martin •

Hi Martin,
Thanks for writing in. Because the number of internal links on the page is something that is considered to be a low importance factor and nofollowed links provide less link juice than followed links, we currently don't provide this information on the On-Page analysis. If you would like to see the number of internal nofollowed links on a page, I would recommend using Open Site Explorer to pull that data.
We are always looking for ways to improve out products, so I will forward your request to include the information on nofollowed links on the On-Page reports to our product team. Hopefully, we'll see that information added sometime in the future.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

'Too many on-page links': doesn't add up...
Hi All, I'm fairly new to the site, have had a full site crawl and am somewhat confused by a large number of pages (82) reported as showing 'too many on page links'. Mine is a new e-commerce site selling a project management methodology. I have about 80 pages which describe individual templates and contain internal links to additional, related content on the site. The crawl warnings define too many on page links as roughly 100 "on any given page" yet almost none of the pages flagged contain more than 20-30 on links. Any thoughts and ideas about (a) the degree to which this will aeffect my ranking in practice and (b) how to resolve it gratefully received! Thanks in advance, Felix

Discrepancies in link reports from SEOMoz and OSE
Hello, I am trying to understand the link profile of my site. In the competitive analysis from SEOMoz, it shows 22K+ of links, with about 900+ being external followed links and 800+ internal. Webmaster tools shows a similar number of external followed links, but the link report from OSE only shows about 150 external followed links. This brings up several questions: Where is this 22K total links coming from? Why is there such a difference in the SEOMoz competitive analysis and the OSE report? Why does the OSE report show some links as not followed, while Webmaster tools lists them as followed? Am new to the off-page aspects of SEO, and I have to say the discrepancy in data from different tools is by far the most challenging thing for me. Would welcome general advice on this topic as well. Thank you!

On Page Optimization Reports - Huh?
I've been working hard to use this EXCELLENT tool for optimize some of what I consider my most important pages . . . But the automatic tool that pulls pages and grades them (the "summary" of the "on page" report) . . . I don't get it. It only graded three of my pages, and I don't understand how it chose what keywords to grade it for? I'm just very confused. I don't understand how it chose the pages to grade, not the words it chose to grade it against. 😞
