Removed Link
-
After I have removed a link, how long does it take for it to be reflected in Google WMT?
-
It can take days, weeks or months for a link to be recognized as removed by Google. It depends on the crawl frequency of the site. If I've gotten a link removed from a PR6 site it likely will be noticed by Google quickly as the page is probably crawled often. But, if it's a PR0 that has not changed in months then it may take weeks before the page is recrawled and Google sees the link is gone.
FYI, if you are disavowing links you will still see them in WMT. Disavowing doesn't remove the link but Google essentially adds a nofollow to it.

That's correct!
-
that depends on how often THEIR site is crawled. But if it's no longer up it's no longer a problem if you're not penalized.
-
If you site has a high domain authority, then most likely your site is crawled by google bot everyday. I would give it two or three days.
-
but EVENTUALLY the link will be reflected as removed?
-
You may have success by requesting removal of the cached version of the page using the URL removal tool; however, I'm assuming you aren't the site owner, and thus do not have access to the forum's URL removal tool.
It really depends on the site. If it's a highly trafficked forum, it is likely crawled frequently. You may see it updated within the week. If it's not, it make a month or so, unfortunately.

no i mean i manually removed it from the website (forum comment signature link) I dont want to report it because its already been removed. I just want to know how long it would take for WMT to refresh and acknowledge that it's gone.

go into Google WMT and request URL removal and it will be deindexed the same day

Spam Links
Hi everyone, I've just joined the Moz community and after completing our first site crawl I've discovered that we have approximately 200 links with a spam score of over 50%. Should I just disavow all these links or is their a formula to deciding which links to disavow? Thanks in Advance Steve

Disavowing Links
I need some advice... I've noticed our link profile has increased with many comments links --- something I certainly have not pursued manually. I'm new to disavowing links. However, before I go ahead and disavow them, I'd like to ask how harmful these links are and would you recommend this is something I can do myself (relatively novice SEO) or if you'd recommend someone who could do this for a reasonable cost. In one instance, the link from this comment thread is with the anchor text, "porn"... Certainly not something we want to rank for, haha! I look forward to your advice

Does This Link Have Value?
Hi Mozzers, A client paid to publish a white paper, thinking that the link to the web site is beneficial. The link does redirect back to the web site, but is in a format that I've never seen: http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=001YdyyLrzOQJxM87SJZkJYVbQKSdCmFpwqg1fuX3yqVqpGboUjdSaHv9IdW5HsQpgmvwOrg5N4T3DNHYV8e1UVe_YCua_XQCFykoSJvu1HzDyb-3x-aFcPU-ER-vwWxq4- Does this link have any value?

Removing a link to a 404 page
Hi guys, If I found a low quality or spam link pointing to my site, but the link points to a 404, 500, etc (inaccessible, error page), Should I bother asking him to remove the link? Thanks

Editorial links
http://www.wired.com/culture/lifestyle/news/1999/01/17484 how do you get a link from an article like this where the author writes for a high domain authority site and just ends up listing a lot of links to different companies?

Remove Unatural Links by SEO Co.
The SEO firm we hired built 2797 links with 123 domain within two month period (March and April) when we don't know better. We received Google's warning on 3/28, and they didn't tell us anything but keep building. Well, that's history now. We learned our lesson. That's why we are a member of SEOmoz. The SEO firm is not too keen on helping us remove the link (we've discontinue the service) after one initial attempt to a few site with tons of links (performed by their Indian team). I've got advice from this Forum regarding link removal. The most suggestions we get is to remove it as many as possible and move on building good links. But, I am afraid such approach will take us years to come ahead as we are under staffed. I saw here that someone mentioned their link building firm wants to charge $10 for links removed. Based on that idea, I wonder if I should offer some monetary incentive? If so, what amount would make financial sense?

Too many links - How to address without removing them?
Hi, When a page has too many links (over 100) due to the number of monthly blog archives for example, is it possible to use a code (like no index but just for one link) that would prevent Google from counting the link? Or not in which case the only options would be to leave the extra links or to delete them. I do not want to put a no index at the page level but more at link level by preventing SE to follow the least important links but keeping them active for users. Thank you, David

What percentage of my links should be directory links
I feel a lot of my link building might be a bit heavy on the directory links side. Should I limit the percentage amount of links as a part of my overall link profile? If yes what percentage of links is ok to be directory links?
