Can you help with quality and interesting content ideas?
-
Hi
I'm ranking for "online biology degree" and "online wildlife biology degree" but I have bad content and I receive almost 100% bounce rate.
Can you help me with ideas on good content and interesting information I can provide for people looking for "online wildlife biology degree" and "online biology courses" "biology degree online"
Every idea would be appreciated.
Yoseph

Hi Yoseph, the first question I usually ask myself when starting planning a content strategy around a keyword is - "What information would I be looking for if I entered that search term?" So, for example, someone searching for an online wildlife biology degree is probably interested in course content, structure, accreditation, price etc. Make sure you include these basic elements.
Then I'd use keyword research to help shape other content ideas (FAQs, keywords optimised around specific modules and topics etc.). Google auto-suggest in searches and the Adwords keywords tool and two basic places to start.
I'd measure the audience's response to this content carefully in Analytics - which pages are most popular; where are readers spending longest; if you have a site search, what words are readers searching for; if you have a sales funnel, whereis it leaking. This data will inform your content strategy for providing content that will match your cusomters' needs. Good luck..

I asked for good ideas how to write good content. Please.

Unforunately, if you do not know how to write good content, you'd better take a course or tutorial or something because you probably won't get to far when it comes to ranking.
You can always get ideas of others, just do not steal or spin their content.

Thanks! I sent it to you in private message

Can you share your landing page URL? I'd be more than happy to take a look!

How to fix thin content issue?
Hello! I've checked my website via Moz and received "thin content" issue: "Your page is considered to have "thin content" if it has less than 50 words" But I definitely know that we have 5 text blocks with unique content, each block consist of more than 50 words. Do you have any ideas what may cause this issue? Thanks in advance, Yana

How to explain to a client that duplicate content is bad...
Afternoon! An SEO client of ours has copied a load of landing/category page content from other sites. Lots of emails have been sent back and forth asking them to remove it, but they are adamant to keep it up there until we have time to amend it. We have explained to them: The Google penalty risks The copyright risks The short and long-term implications for their brand new business/website The money they are spending on our SEO package could be completely wasted if they're caught I think the above is pretty black and white, but the director of this company will not budge. Does anyone have any different approaches? The director said he's happy for us to amend the content but, in the meantime, the plagiarised content will not be removed. Cheers, Lewis

Do we need to worry about internal duplicate content?
Hi, I have a question about internal duplicate content. We have a catalogue of around 4000 products. Most of these do have individual descriptions but for most of the products they contain a generic summary that includes a sentence to begin with that includes each product name. We're currently working on descriptions for each product, but as you can imagine it's quite a chore. I was wondering if there are actually any penalties for this or whether we can ignore the crawl errors from the moz report? Thanks in Advance!

How best to deal with internal duplicate content
hi having an issue with a client site and internal duplicate content. The client has a custom cms and when they post new content it can appear, in full, at two different urls on the site. Short of getting the client to move cms, which they won't do, I am trying to find an easy fix that they could do themselves. ideally they would add a canonical on one of the versions but the cms does allow them to view posts in html view, also would be a lot if messing about wth posting the page and then going back to the cms and adding the tag. the cms is unable to auto generate this either. The content editors are copywriters not programmers. Would there be a solution using wmt for this? They have the skill level to be able to add a url in wmt so im thinking that a stop gap solution could be to noindex one of the versions using the option in webmaster tools. Ongoing we will consult developers about modifying the cms but budgets are limited so looking for a cheap and quick solution to help until the new year. anyone know of a way other than wmt to block Google from seeing duplicate content. We can block Google from folders because only a small percentage of the content in the folder would be internally duplicate. would be very grateful for any suggestions anyone could offer. thanks.

Duplicate Content - Blog Rewriting
I have a client who has requested a rewrite of 250 blog articles for his IT company. The blogs are dispersed on a variety of platforms: his own website's blog, a business innovation website, and an IT website. He wants to have each article optimised with keyword phrases and then posted onto his new website thrice weekly. All of this is in an effort to attract some potential customers to his new site and also to establish his company as a leader in its field. To what extent would I need to rewrite each article so as to avoid duplicating the content? Would there even be an issue if I did not rewrite the articles and merely optimised them with keywords? Would the articles need to be completely taken by all current publishers? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Good idea to use hidden text for SEO purposes due to picky clients not allowing additional content?
I do SEO for eCommerce websites both in-house and for clients. A few of our clients want increased rankings but are not willing to allow us to make the changes internally to help make that happen. One of which is adding content to the webpages since 90% of them have very little to none. I have a couple clients that are extremely picky about what can be seen on their eCommerce website. They have the site setup the way they want it but it is not SEO friendly in the slightest. The pages (including homepage) have little to no content, and the only things they want changed are things visitors CANNOT see on the webpages (META, ALT Tags etc). The tactic i am wanting to use is often used by spammers but i have a legitimate reason to use this and wanted to know if this would be a good idea. They are wanting to target fairly competitive keywords but are unwilling to allow any on-page changes to add any information and keywords to help with rankings. I was thinking about adding text behind images or hide the text in whatever ways to prevent the end user from viewing it (except for the search engines). My idea was simply to add a paragraph or two of content for the search engines purely to help in ranking because they have a lot of pages that have zero content except for product image and title listings. Is this tactic recommended or does anyone have any other ideas for these type of situations. Thanks,
