MozBar & OSE
-
I'm doing some research for an e-commerce store, and I'm getting very different link counts from the Mozbar & Opensite explorer. Any idea why? Which is more accurate?
-
Hey Chris,
All of the data for both the Mozbar and OSE comes from the same index, so you shouldn't really be seeing different information between the two. Can you please let me know the URL that you are on when using the Mozbar and then the full OSE URL that the Mozbar directs you to when you click the link for the root domain stats? I am looking for the actuall opensiteexplorer.org URL, i.e. http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=www.seomoz.org. That information will help me investigate if you are experiencing a bug.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I realize this is kind of late, but yes I am click on the root domain stats on the mozbar that is taking me to OSE.

Are you using the exact same URL on both? Including whether it has www, trailing slash, etc?

Issue getting total links, page & domain authority
Hi guys, I am trying to get total links, page & domain authority using the API. I am requesting the following columns: Cols=6871947673632768328204816384343597383681653687091214 { "fjid": 207343179, "ued": 43324279, "pib": 255645, "ptrr": 0.0056131743357352125, "fmrp": 8.246626591590841, "unid": 954915, "fjf": 4003651, "fjr": 0.00040067116628622016, "ftrp": 8.308303969566644, "ftrr": 0.0012189619975325583, "fejp": 9.265328830369816, "pnid": 45883246, "fjd": 2480265, "ujfq": 1277385, "pjip": 1230240, "fjp": 9.586342983782004, "fuid": 294877628, "uu": "www.google.com/", "pejr": 0.0004768398971363439, "ufq": "www.google.com/", "pejp": 9.647424778525615, "ujp": 300689, "utrp": 7.916901429865898, "ptrp": 9.487254666203722, "utrr": 0.001639219985667878, "fmrr": 0.000731592927123369, "pda": 100, "pjd": 5600882, "ulc": 1342758719, "fnid": 12165784, "fejr": 0.00016052965883996156, "ujb": 107264 } I cannot see the UPA column returned in the JSON object. Pro Q&A Forum software?
Does anyone know of a PRO Q&A Forum software that could be used on our domain, www.curadebt.com ? This is a great way for people to earn points and help each other. We've tried other traditional forum software and it didn't work too well nor did people like to participate. Thanks!

Why can't we access metrics in the API that are available in the mozbar?
For example, the Chrome/Firefox mozbar uses peid (Root Domain External Links) but the api doesn't allow this. I've done a little bit of reverse engeniering and it looks like the accessID for the mozbar (when logged in as a pro member) is "pro-xxxx". Does this mean that each pro account has its own accessid/secret key? If so, when will pro members have access to that? I've created a tool that I use for deciding which expired domains to buy and it uses all of the free metrics - but I find myself having to do one extra step to get the peid (navigating to ose). It doesn't make much sense that the metric is available to me when I'm using the mozbar logged in as a pro member (which I pay for), but not apart of the API.
