Is there a need to have differen GWT account
-
Hi,
in your opinion and practice, do you think that it is necessary not to put too many web sites that you optimize in the same GWT account? Can this always give Google a signal that there is a strong relation between this websites?
-
Hi,
In my opinion 1 client = 1 Google account (GWT, G+, GA ...etc). I agree with Davinia that linking accounts is good solution to make your work easier...
Having one account per client let you transfer whole data to client after contract termination and the client will be satisfied.

Seems like a bit of a stretch that there would be a negative impact, but if you are concerned why not create child accounts (individual accounts for client websites) and just link them to a master account (i.e. your business account). That way you can still access them all from one login (after you set up the child accounts).

Pagination when not needed
Hello Moz, Odd one for you today. I've a site with has pagination (rel= next / prev) however its not being used correctly. I'll give you some examples: lets assume its a 5 page site with a home page, about us etc. The home page has a rel="next" tag on it leading to the next tab (about us) this goes all the way down to the final tag (contact us). Normally you use these tags for pages e.g page 1 - 5 but how much will they affect being used in the way above I'm thinking site structure. Just to add there is no view all on it either though this would make no sense in the way it is being used. Normally I would remove but the client wants to know why and I wanted to articulate better then "because its wrong" As always Moz - thanks!

Need Help With WWW vs. Non-WWW Duplicate Pages
A friend I'm working with at RedChairMarket.com is having duplicate page issues. Among them, both www and non-www URLs are being generated automatically by his software framework, ASP.net mvc 3. How should we go about finding and tackling these duplicates? Thanks!

How is this possible? A 200 response and 'nothing' to be seen? Need help!
On checking this website http://dogtraining.org.uk/ I get a 200 response. But an Oops! Google Chrome could not find dogtraining.org.uk . Same with Firefox (Server not found). Obviously there is a problem - I just don't know where to 'start' investigating to spot the error. Can someone help me? Thank you!

How long after google crawl do you need 301 redirects
We have just added 301's when we moved our site. Google has done a crawl & spat back a few errors. How long do I need to keep those 301's in place? I may need to change some. Thanks

Why would SEOMoz and GWT report 404 errors for pages that are not 404ing?
Recently, I've noticed that nearly all of the 404 errors (not soft 404) reported in GWT actually resolve to a legitimate page. This was weird, but I thought it might just be old info, so I would go through the process of checking and "mark as fixed" as necessary. However, I noticed that SEOMoz is picking up on these 404 errors in the diagnostics of the site as well, and now I'm concerned with what the problem could be. Anyone have any insight into this? Rich

Help needed regarding managing client expectations - tricky situation
I will try to explain the scenario as quickly as possible and my hope is that someone can share their opinion on how they would move forward. I was introduced to a local business owner who said he wanted help with SEO. Upon looking at his current online marketing, I saw he had 2 current sites promoting the same local business (martial arts instruction / classes). Why he had two sites? He said it made it easier for him to dominate in Google. Red Flag #1. Upon doing a quick site audit, I found a ton of problems with the existing site. Black text on a black background, keyword stuffing in title tags, non-canonicalization, no xml sitemap, no Google analytics installed...on and on. In addition, the site did not really have a good look to it graphically. I told him that I recommend a fresh new site using Wordpress and that we should build the content with the focus on explaining the benefits of the classes. He agreed and we began development of a new Wordpress site from the ground up. We built a sitemap, wireframe, nice design, etc. The site looks much better and we got rid of a lot of the technical problems with the site. The problem is this: Even though the new site is technically better based on On Page analysis, it is not showing up anywhere in the Top for localized keywords. The site has been live for about 2 1/2 months (March 1). I made the mistake of telling him that in a lot of cases in the past, I was able to build a new site for other clients that would rank well for localized searches based on On Page optimization alone. This is not happening for him with the new site. The new domain is relatively new (less than a year old) and has no links at all at this point. I recommended that we do a 301 redirect from his existing domain to the new one but he is skeptical and I almost can't blame him. The client is not paying me to do any SEO. The contract was to build a new site that would be built with best SEO On Page practices (Title Tags, Header Tags, Meta Desc., XML Sitemap, canonicalization, etc.) I hesitate to post the links to his existing site and the new one we built but I can see where that may shed some more light on the subject. If interested in taking a look, please send me a message. I guess the two questions are this: 1. Is it reasonable for a site to rank well for a localized non-competitive term based on A scores of on page analysis? 2. What harm or foul is there in doing a 301 redirect from the old domain to the new one and then reverting back if he decides that the move hurt his rankings more than helped? Thanks.

Two domains One hosting account
I have two separate domains set up on one hosting account through godaddy. Will this affect the SEO negatively? They are completely different sites with their own unique domains but on my local files the second domain is set up as a subfolder for the original hosted domain. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Duplicate exact match domains flagged by google - need help reinclusion
Okay I admit, I've been naughty....I have 270+ domains that are all exact match for city+keyword and have built tons of back links to all of them. I reaped the benefits....and now google has found my duplicate templates and flagged them all down. Question is, how to get the reincluded quickly? Do you guys think converting a site to a basic wordpress template and then simply using 275 different templates and begging applying each site manually would do it, or do you recommend. 1. create a unique site template for each site 2. create unique content any other advice for getting reincluded? Aside from owning up and saying, "hey i used the same template for all the sites, and I have created new templates and unique content, so please let me back".
