Quarterly Reports Show Odd Data
-
I've pulled a quarterly report for a client, and it's showing very odd numbers.
I'm monitoring 58 keywords - and the current keyword ranking report from last week says that there are 21 keywords in the top 3 and 33 on the first page.
But the quarterly report says that there are 50 in the top 3 and 70 on the first page???
What's up with this?
-
Nevermind - I get it now. It's for all three search engines - so it's positions across all three.
Silly me.
Thanks

Thanks, Joel.
So considering those numbers, you'd assume they had a lot of keywords in and out of the top 3 and in and out of the top 10?
Seems like a lot of movement. Very odd.
Thanks

Hey there,
Sorry for the confusion! The quarterly reports will not match what you see on your weekly report, otherwise there'd be no difference between the weekly and quarterly reports.
What you see on the quarterly is actually a count of all the keywords that appears in the top 3 and first page over the past 3 months.
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Joel.

Raven Reporting Alternative
Does anyone know of a tool that has similar capacity to Raven's Reports? I'm doing some white labeling of reports for another Agency that is used to sending their clients a monthly Raven report that is basicly pulling out all the Google Analytic Data of top referrers, keywords, landing pages ect and putting them into a nice format. I've used the Moz reporting and at times just combined it with a pdf of the actual GA equivalent. That's always seemed a bit clunky but I don't want to have to take on a Raven subscription just for that. Anyone have any good alternatives or know if when the new dashboard launches if it will also up its game when it comes to the generated reports?

On Page Reports for Long-Tail Keywords?
First Q&A here, so take it easy on me. Hopefully this is not a dumb question. 99% of the on page reports I look at are for local keywords. I'm finding that some of the page reports get and F where they should be receiving A's. I noticed if I manage a long-tail keyword like "books in houston tx" that I get a grade based on the exact phrase as opposed to a combination of the keywords. So when I have text in the body saying "books in the Houston area" or "Houston Books" for example, instead of using my exact managed keyword, it will tell me that the keyword is not mentioned in the body anywhere. When it is, it's just not in the exact order... I'm trying to write my pages for users and I don't think the users want to hear "books in houston tx" several times. If I do a report on the same page for the keyword "books" I get an A. So this is where it gets a little in the grey area for me. I need a solid on page report for local long-tail search terms. Anyone have any advice? Is there a way I could be using this tool to better suit my needs?
