Hi, i am trying to understand about leveraging semantic markup but even though i have read the page on the link, i am still not sure of what it means and how i can use it in my site www.in2town.co.uk which has been built using joomla

Hi Diane,
from Wiki: 'Semantic HTML is the use of HTML markup to reinforce the semantics, or meaning, of the information in webpages rather than merely to define its presentation (look)..." full document link
Semantic in shortest way does mean structured. Structured from article (and/or text) point of view. ... from other Wiki article "The Semantic Web, as originally envisioned, is a system that enables machines to "understand" and respond to complex human requests based on their..." link
The simplest example of semantic markup are H tags (H1, H2 ... H6), other ... bullets
Non semantic tags are e.g.
- they are semantically neutral ...
Since late 90' semantic markup (and web) are strongly supported by CSS which is responsible for presentation (look) of the web.
So ... summarizing everything what is an element of structured document is semantic markup and everything what is neutral for document structure is non-semantic.
I think it will help you

Href lang issues - help needed!
Hi, I have an issue with Google indexing the US version of our website rather than the UK version on Google.co.uk. I have added hreflang tags to both sites (https://www.pacapod.com/ and https://us.pacapod.com/), have updated and submitted an XML sitemap for each website and checked that the country targeting in search console is set-up correctly but Google are still indexing the wrong website. I would be grateful for any assistance with this issue. Many thanks Eddie

Exclude price in rich snippet markup
Our site has their prices hidden for non logged in users. Its a woocommerce built site and the rich snippet markups are added by woocommerce. I would like to remove the markup for the price becouse : 1, we would like our customers to register for prices. 2 i dont want to get penalties for not showing the same thing to visitors as to "google" .. Any help or thoughts on this one? Thanks / Jonas

Why can no tool crawl this site?
I am trying to perform a crawl analysis on a client's website at https://www.bravosolution.com I have tried to crawl it with IIS for SEO, Sreaming Frog and Xenu and not one of them makes it further than the home page of the site. There is nothing I can see in the robots.txt that is blocking these agents. As far as I can see, Google is able to crawl the site although they have noticed a significant drop in organic traffic. Any advise would be very welcome Regards Danny

NOFOLLOW Links: Can we 100% ignore them for SEO purposes?
Some SEO articles say we can completely ignore NoFollow links. Other articles say they still matter - but then are very vague on what they count for or against. So which is it really? I do realize that they can provide traffic, and for that they are worthwhile. But it is SEO I am asking about... The SEO purpose I am most concerned with is the Link Profile. Separating the Follows from the NoFollows often gives really different anchor text distributions. If they don't matter, why do MOZ and other SEO Analysis programs still include them in their standard reports? (I can see some benefit to having them as part of the in-depth reports) So what's your thoughts? Can we 100% ignore the NoFollows for our SEO analysis?

Why is this site beating mine? I can't work it out!
I feel my site is not to bad. Needs more work and could be better but what site could not, However i'm bamboozled by some of the sites that are out ranking me on key terms. e.g. Horse Rugs http://www.fasttackdirect.co.uk/products-1-122/Horse_Clothing/HORSE_RUG_SALE.html ranking 8th http://www.centralsaddlery.co.uk/horse/horse-rugs/ not ranking in first 10 pages I dont expect my site (the later) to rank well as its not up there with the bigger players in our industry yet however I can't see why a page like the one i mentioned is ranking so well when as far as i can see its not as well optimized and has very little content. This is not me ranting about it or whining about why i'm not top etc. I just can't work it out and would love sombody to explain the reasons for this? The only thing i can think of is that they have more category with the words "Horse Rugs" in them. Other than that i'm stumped! Ideas on a postcard please!

How can I get a listing of just the URLs that are indexed in Google
I know I can use the site: query to see all the pages I have indexed in Google, but I need a listing of just the URLs. We are doing a site re-platform and I want to make sure every URL in Google has a 301. Is there an easy way to just see the URLs that Google has indexed for a domain?
