I am considering using M2 Newswire, a press release distribution services. I am just wondering if anyone knows if M2 Newsire is a good PR distribution site for SEO? I.e. will i get many backinks from using the service?

I am not sure to be honest. I use a lot of press release services and I've never heard of this one. Are they charging anything?

I do a lot of public speaking and normally upload my slides somewhere so people can access later. With most sites I can upload to Slideshare or similar, then embed into my own site. I do it for audience convenience, but it would be swell to get an SEO bump.

Linking root domains to your own site

I have been using the moz open site explorer tool and glancing at my competition. I noticed most sites if not all in the linking domains section have a link to there own site. How do i do this? On my site i have no established links and my score is only 1/1. Even with lower ranking sites that have there own site linking to there self have a 16/16. Any help would be appreciated I am pretty new to all of this. thanks

Hiring for SEO Outreach

Hope everyone is having a nice Labor Day! We're a family owned wine club startup and have been handling SEO in house since things didn't go well with a previous SEO company (and sure we've done plenty of bad stuff along the way as well). In any case, we're writing a blog, including video entries etc. I've been handling basic email outreach about posts (ie if I write a winery profile, asking the winery to link to it) but don't really have time to handle more significant outreach than that. Can anyone make some suggestions about where to hire someone for an outreach job like this? It would undoubtedly be part time and Elance didn't give us anyone we were comfortable with. Photography Site ranking!

Hi I am working on a photography site: www.daffodilwaves.co.uk now there isn't many pages nor is the that much text. However you will see that they have a blog (poorly designed one which we are addressing) Now blog posts I feel can be really good as there is generally alot of naturally written text which I don't feel I need to influence. Also generally people will comment so I also believe that is good for rankings too. However I find that the blog ranks higher than the actual website and I dont want that to occur the website is the one that generates the bookings. So can you give me some ideas to transfer the ranking from the blog to the website? I was thinking that within the article I could simply link back to the homepage - would you think that is a good idea? If so would you suggest I use particular anchor text? such as "Wedding Photographer" or "Comtemporary wedding Photographer" Thanks

Telalinks.com - good idea or not?
