A competitor is posting to all these blogs!

One of my competitors is posting on blogs like this getting free back links.
http://50fiftyclothing.com/blog1/
http://www.get-rid-of-bellyfat.org/tag/disease/ http://www.medicalinfo101.com/He is killing the SERP, but how am I suppose to compete when google is rewarding him with great rankings?
-
Thank you all. It's like you should build two sites. One to make money on and one for long term. LOL
-
Yeah, I just had a site bypass me with a bunch of crappy shotty written artlicles on domains like
biz123.semi-relevant-keyword.com
ect....
Hundreds of them, but they also keep bouncing up and down and it is for a keyword that a shotty SEO must have thought it brought in good traffic cause of shotty keyword research LOL
The funniest thing is I think it is the same SEO making the rounds in this niche that gets people quick rankings and they are there for maybe a month, then plummet - cause the sub domain structure is similar.
In any case Thompson is correct, keep running a clean campaign and they will keep bouncing around from page 1 to 50

_It is the same old story. Hundreds of websites are still using blog networks, directory submissions, article submissions, and other spammy techniques and loz, they are ruling the SERP with top rankings. We can only pray that one day they will get caught by Google algo.
And what I feel is that you should get distracted by what others are doing. Rather do you job and hopefully, your website will manage to get better visibility soon. _

Simply put, you need to decide whether you're building your website for long-term value or for a quick benefit that could disappear at any time.
The reality is that SEO is not fair. Never has been and never will be. Using tactics like spam blogs may very well help rankings at least temporarily. Right up until they get caught and penalized by the search engines and their entire ranking value disappears over night.
One only has to look at the litany of posters to Q&A here over the last year who have had their sites literally disappear from the search engines and their income evaporate because the questionable tactics they were using got the crap kicked out them by the SEs algorithm updates.
If you're wiling to risk the value of your site to try to get some short-term wins, and are willing to completely rebuild your site from the ground up every time you get caught, go for it. (and yes, some site owners actually operate this way and make money doing it)
Otherwise, focus on building the most kick-ass site you can, and stop worrying that other sites are "getting away with it". There's nothing you can do about what they're doing anyway, so redirect that frustration (and I know it IS frustrating!!) into energy to improve your own site and promotion.
There's my $0.02 anyway.

Paid Manual 10 Guest Post EDU Back-Links - GOOD or BAD idea?
Hello, I know **Fiverr **has been a topic of discussion for a while in regards to cheap and bad SEO work. Most of the threads I found here refer to buying 1000's of EDU backlinks - but what about 10 manually placed that seem legit? The seller states in his GIG "I have guest posting privilege at Different University websites. I will write and publish a post there with a dofollow backlink to your website, using your anchor text. The article will contain one relevant, contextual link to your website, using a suitable anchor text. There would also be a few other links to authority sites (not your competitors’ sites) to make everything look professional and natural." Could anyone give me advice as to something like this is worth it - or did the seller simply reduce the number from 1000's to 10's to avoid suspicion? I mean even if 1 of the links is valid - surely it makes a difference? or am I still high on the fiverr dream? I dont expect an instant PR or SERP increase, Im simply wondering if something like this is harmful or beneficial, and to what extent.

How new website / blogs can earn backlinks?
Hi, As link wheels, link pyramids and paid links are penalized by google and the only chance to get back links is to earn them. My Question is that with a new website / blog, how a newbie with no relationships with established bloggers, can earn links? Because writing quality contents and detailed posts (e.g. more than 3000 words posts twice a month) still would benefits for those blogs having already traffic to share these contents and in case of new blog, due to very low traffic, it would take months or years to enter in the game. Please propose step by step strategy / plan / footprint for newly born website and marketers. Thanks

Will our website traffic be adversely affected by Google by allowiing other sites to post our content on their sites?
Hi, We're a radio station posting original content each day. We belong to a sector of similar radio stations. It's been proposed that we all contribute content to this group

so any radio station can grab this content and post it on their own websites. As the site with the most content and web traffic, could this potentially harm us?1 -
The better my blog gets, the lower my rankings!
My blog was hit by Google Panda on July 21. My rankings dropped dramatically overnight. Nothing I do is helping. In fact, the day my guest post was published on one of the biggest blogs in my niche (DA over 70) my Google impressions dropped to an all time low and then got worse. (250 impressions and 12 clicks) You can see the first drop and the second drop in these screenshots and yes Google Webmasters and Google Analytics match. http://tinypic.com/r/2dvtvlj/5 http://tinypic.com/r/4u83t4/5 I am getting more fans, subscribers, traffic etc but my Google traffic just gets worse. I would really like to get some organic traffic! But I have no idea why this is happening. I checked manual actions and there is nothing. I cleaned up crawl errors and duplicate content. I get several backlinks a week within my niche from high authority sites. I just don't get it and I am very discouraged. What should I do?

Reposting my articles on other blogs - good or bad?
Hi there! Our blog is full of really good articles on consumer finance topics. Recently we established contact with some local media and even government agencies who said they will be happy to repost our articles on their sites. Question: is it ok to repost our articles as they are and link back to us, or shall we rewrite them to make them 100% original? The media doesn't insist on original content, but I'd like to get SEO benefit from it (the sites are really good). If original content gives us more SEO value, we're happy to do it Please advise. P.S. Using rel=canonicals is not an option (it's government websites and some old school media - they are very not tech savvy).

I have created 5 model specific blog sites which deliver links to my core site.
I post about 500 words of unique relevant content weekly to each model blog site. Each week, seo smartlinks delivers keyword anchor text links to my core site with a 3% keyword density. I have been doing this for 3 months and my core site traffic is stagnant or slightly down. Is this a good practice since its relevant content, or am I writing for nothing? Also, am I in danger of over optimized anchor text?

Can competitors pay to have spammy sites link to your website?
Is there anything stopping competitors from doing a negative text-linking campaign against your site to purposefully harm your business?
