Does adding a well scripted and produced video help significantly in conversions from visits to my divorce lawyer website to calls for my services?
-
Should the addition of well scripted and produced video to my divorce lawyer website increase my conversions and, if so, to what extent?
-
Almost certainly.
http://www.kurtzandblum.com/ did exactly this and saw a significant increase in conversions (and 14% increase in traffic).

It is impossible to say to what extent adding a video to your site will increase conversions but adding a good video is one of the things I would try to see if the conversion rate goes up.
Before having the video made you should consider how many new clients you would need to get to pay for the video. Then if you believe that the video will increase the conversions by an amount more than you need to break even do it.
I would use the video to encourage people to contact your office rather than trying to answer all the questions they may have. You can also use it to pre-qualify people if you get a lot of people contacting the office that you are unable to help.
I hope this helps

Questions like this pertaining to CRO can really depend on A/B testing. A lot of marketers will recommend you to test something similar to the well scripted and produced video before spending the budget. You can maybe try another video that you have access to or the rights to publish on your site.
See if this increases the conversions and if it does it may give you the evidence you need to spend the budget on the tailored video.
CRO always comes down to testing and studies.

How well does your site rank at the moment for you primary keywords? I know you haven't indicated that you expect better rankings, but from experience, many people think this will be the magic bullet to get them ranked...it won't make the difference - just to say.
I suppose it will depend on the video. Divorce is a highly emotive subject and it may depend on how you, or others on the video are viewed by those same emotive people. Do you have a face that suits radio or are you a warm person that conveys care and trust?
Maybe the business is aimed at "we'll screw the best deal out of your husband, and then screw him over as well..." - hey, some may love that tactic.
Ultimately, people buy from people, and if they trust what is being shown on the screen, you have a good chance of increasing conversions.
The last thing I would say is don't trust your own judgement - get a decent consensus of opinion of who should be shown on the film.
Hope that helps.

Best Practices: Mobile & Desktop Ad Design for Adwords?
Is it possible to have Google Adwords display different page versions according to whether an advertisement will be displayed on a mobile or desktop device? We are a commercial real estate brokerage based in New York City. Most converting website use desktop rather than mobile. We are considering advertising on Google Adwords. Is it possible to have Google serve a more elaborate form of desktop landing page but have Google serve a stripped down version to mobile users? The stripped down version would be created using Instapage. From a technical perspective how would we create a more elaborate desktop version and have Google distinguish between the two? In our experience, mobile converts much less. How much less should we bid for keywords displaying on mobile? Thanks!

Has anyone ever used Adwords' Forwarding Numbers as a Call Tracking Service?
Hi, I was taking over a client's Adwords account from a previous agency. It appears the former agency added the Google Forwarding Number (for call tracking on call extensions) and added it to the client's website. Therefore, if anyone calls that number from the website, it would register within Adwords (just not as a conversion but as a click under "call extensions") The problem: you can't filter by phone number (the same number calling +1 would indicate spam) you can filter by device (so tablet / computer) can be considered spam generally. Questions: Anyone ever used this before? Your thoughts? Does anyone know if there is spam coming from mobile devices now-a-days? Please tell me what I'm missing. Any advice / anyone else seen this / done this? Thanks Moz Community, Cole

Good examples of video marketing by service businesses?
Do you know of any service businesses (ie not software or SaaS) that uses video marketing effectively?

Especially any company offering more than one service. Just for example, a training company of any kind. Literally anything that comes to mind will help me so, so much. My Google-fu is failing me on this one.0 -
How to make use of those traffics on non-conversion page?
I am working on a website which sells eBooks softwares, most of posts on the site are teaching people how to solve eBook-reading problems and will lead visitors to download and try the software. But some posts are not related to the software, we just write it for traffic, for example: link-bait post such as top xxx romantic eBooks, free eBooks tools review, etc. These posts have got a pretty considerable traffic, but visitors just come here, read, like/share/comment, then leave. Is there any way I can make use of these pages to convert? Thanks

UX Design: Do Directional Cues Help?
Hi, Bit of a different subject really to the usual SEO chat but as most of you know UX/CRO fits in nicely with SEO. For those of you who know about directional cues, what are your experiences with them, what types of directional cues worked best for you? And has anyone had any positive experiences with cues and social buttons? For those who are not sure what directional cues are: http://www.ioninteractive.com/post-click-marketing-blog/2010/11/19/how-to-use-design-to-form-directional-cues-on-landing-pages.html Thanks
