Title tags for deep pages
-
Just pondering what is current best practice for Title tags of pages buried deep within my website?
Say I have a page about 'Cheese's of the world' and from that page there is a page about 'Cheshire Cheese' how would you suggest to structure title tags
Would for example this be ok -
Cheshire Cheese | Cheese's of the World | Brand name
Or is this better -
Cheshire Cheese | Brand name
Just wondering as I'm redesigning my site currently and looking at everything!
Ted
PS - I like cheese

You want to put your most important keyword at the front of the tag. Most important to least important and under 70 characters (including spaces).
Each Title tag has to be unique. Since you already have a page about the Cheeses of the world The Cheshire Cheese page should begin with the keyword Cheshire Cheese. Also, since you already have a page called Cheeses of the world you could try using a completely different keyword that's similar to the keyphrases Cheeses of the world. Try and catch rankings for similar key phrases.
Cheshire Cheese, Find Cheese from around the world. Brand
I'd also recommend to not use | (Pipes) As Google see's those as stops. Its better to have a flowy sentence title tag.
One last thing.. I LOVE cheese too!
-
However, every title tag on the site needs to be unique, so the parent page would be
Cheshire Cheese | Brand name
and this page would be
Cheese's of the World | Brand name
Sometimes these is great benefit in mentioning the parent category it it contains a keyword from the subpage (like cheese) or it makes the description of the product easier to be understood in the serps. Every site needs to make it's best assessment.

Every keyword you have in the title decreases the value of every other keyword in the title. Therefore, the fewer keywords you have in your title, the better (plus it looks cleaner).
My recommendation would be: Cheshire Cheese | Brand name

Thank you Irving & Bernado, had a feeling I was on the right lines and good to get confirmation!

Since your primary keyword you are targeting on this page is Cheese's of the world, I would mention it first in the title tag. You should keep this tag under 70 characters, so if you find that many of your titles are longer, you should drop the top category from the title tag.
Cheese's of the world | Chesire Cheese | Brand Name
-
I'm no expert, but as a user I would rather see the first option, maybe with a little tweak like:
Cheshire Cheese - Cheese's of the World | Brand name
It shows me that I'm inside a category of some sort, and I may be compelled to look at it. If you added breadcrumbs to the page it would be perfect.

Duplicate Page Titles
It seems as though we are being flagged for duplicate page titles when really they are slightly different. Is it better to remove the "dart board" or "dart board backboard" from all the product titles? We were doing this for optimal SEO - to rank for the search of "dart board" - but is it really hurting us? for example, our product titles are: Obama dart board backboard, Texas dart board backboard, Oklahoma dart board backboard, etc. Yet they are being flagged as duplicate titles.

Why is Google replacing my meta title with the business name on home page?
For all queries that return the home page, Google is not showing my meta title. Instead it replaced it with the official business name which of course makes it harder to rank for key terms since they don't exist now in the meta title. You can see this is you search on "mt view estate planning attorney". The site in question is dureelaw.com and the title showing is "The Law Office of Daniel L. DuRee." View the source and you'll see my meta title. Why is Google substituting it?

Duplicate page titles and hreflang tags
Moz is flagging a lot of pages on our site which have duplicate page titles. 99% of these are international pages which hreflang tags in the sitemap. Do I need to worry about this? I assumed that it wasn't an issue given the use of hreflang. And if that's the case, why is Moz flagging them as an issue? Thanks.

Please review page for on page SEO
I'm working on an adult dating site review blog and am hoping to build links to the category pages. It's a wordpress blog so the posts are categorised by topics. However can you tell me if there is enough content on the page for google to identify what the page is about? The problem is that the content of each category pages is pulled from the posts. What I think is needed is some static text on the page 2-300 words that use the keyword. Here's an example of a page targeting the keywords 'online dating'. http://www.top-10-dating-reviews.com/category/online-dating/

I was thinking I would because then I could add more pictures and expand on the topic and try to get an "A" grade on each page. I'm not sure how I could rank a page if I have 35 services listed on the page. That would be an awfully big H1! Suggestions?0 -
Framed Pages and Dynamic Pages
Has anyone else had experience with different CMS's for Ecommerce . Ones that create static pages and others that dynamically create pages. What differences have you seen with rankings on google with the two. Here are two examples of sites using static framed pages and one with a system that dynamically creates pages - http://www.gardeningexpress.co.uk/ - static frames and http://www.floraselect.co.uk - dynamically

Should H1s be used in the logo? If they are and it is dynamic on each page to relate to the page content, is this detrimental to the site rather than having it in the page content?
On some sites, the H1 is contained within the logo and remains consistent throughout the site (i.e. the company name is in the of the logo). If the h1 in a logo is dynamic for each page (i.e. on the homepage it is company name - homepage) is this better or worse to have it changed out on the logo rather than having it in the page content?
