We own and operate a site called: http://www.phonesale.com/
For the past 5-6 months, we have been working to recover our organic traffic which was hit heavily May 2012.
We have made many strides in terms of eliminating technical issues w/ the site as well as cleaning up our link profile to no avail.
Is there anything else that we can do to help get back into Google's good graces, both on page and off page?

You need to diversify your anchor text. Only 10-20% of your links should have exact match anchor text in them, and of your 180 domains you have 50 with "unlocked cell phones." Plus, you have almost no benign links such as "click here" or "website." If you want to get rid of the penalty you need to either start building links, or start changing the anchor text on the ones you have.

My first advice is that you continue to review all external links and determine which are paid or are coming from link farms and remove them by asking their Webmasters and the preparing a disavow file. Here's one example of a paid link to your site: http://directory.gtsee.com/Shopping/ . I'm simplifying a complex and tedious process, but there is a substantial amount of in-depth online assistance on this topic.
Please share all the steps you have taken and the percentage loss of traffic you are having.

I work for a non-profit association. We currently use a .com as our primary, but also own the .org. Should we switch to the .org address? What would the benefits be?

Are links safe from friendsite.com?
I have just checked my backlinks in Majestic and was shocked. It appears I've gained 1500 back links in 1 day all from the domains friendsite.com. I checked a few of the links and the links to my site have disappeared. Looking at friendsite.com, it seems that peopel can bookmark a site, and when they do it appears on the "latest bookmerk" section which is site wide. So my concern is that: 1500 links have appeared in one day from one domain 1500 links disappeared the next day Wouldnt both of these cause Google to get suspicious? What should I do? Should I ask friendsite.com to remove the links?

What is the best way to learn SEO?
I was wondering if it's worth taking an SEO Training course. If so is it better to take a live class or Online class. Or is better to just read all the SEO Books out there? Or is there a good video series anyone can recommend? What is the best way to learn SEO? I have a good understanding of SEO but I'm not a Pro ( Yet ). Obviously SEO is always evolving so even the Pro's are constantly updating their skill set but I want to make sure my foundation is solid and complete. Advice Please. Thank you all.

What's a good place for a copywriter to start researching the more technical aspects of SEO?
I've been working as a copywriter for about a year and a half now and I feel like the more advanced SEO topics (rel= tags, .htaccess files, etc) are a bit over my head. Is there a website where I can read up on all of these things? I have a basic understanding of them but I couldn't talk about them for very long, and I want to become more well rounded as a search marketer. Thanks!!
