How should I structure my facebook like buttons?
-
I have a facebook like button on my homepage. Currently, it points to my facebook page, so every time someone likes this button they are liking my facebook page.
Is this how it should be structured? Do the likes count towards my home page?
Is there a way that a like can simultaneously like my facebook page AND my website?
Which is best for search metrics?
Thanks for your responses.

Likes can impact search results in Bing. But beyond that, they're social proof more than anything else. Likes to your page, however, can be used as a way to connect with your fans over Facebook, and will likely have benefits for Facebook's new Graph Search as well. I would choose building up my Facebook following over having people like my homepage.

You cannot simultaneously like your home page and Facebook page with one click on a like button. I think it depends on the type of website. On blog type sites or news they always have social buttons like that which are URL specific to the story you are reading. But on service websites of people that make tools or websites or something, they tend to have a Facebook widget that shows how many people like them on Facebook with a like button to do that.
I haven't seen any evidence that several likes of a URL help it rank any better. While it is certainly a sign of popularity, I haven't seen any conclusive study on it to show it will boost rankings. However number of likes on your Facebook page can impact how you show up in Facebook search. Might not matter much to you, but something to consider.

Are Facebook ads a waste of money?
Possibly a contrivercial topic as it depends on the business industry and other factors. Although when we have created targeted ads, say for example British people who live in London, aged between 30-55 as our 'targeted audience', set the ads live and we get nothing but fake followers and people from eastern countries. It seems to me as a complete waste of money.

Videos perform poorly on facebook...why?
I have a facebook page with 42,000 Real fans. Images, screenshots, links, questions, etc all perform well. But videos get 0 interaction. If I get 5 likes that is saying something. Why would facebook not send out my videos to people? Is there a way to increase them? It is very frustrating to post our youtube videos to get no response. My fans are most 13-30 yr old gamers, so videos should be right up their alley.

Increasing likes on Facebook - Strategies
What local strategies has anybody used in the past to boost the local likes of a Facebook page. The business concerned is a home improvements company covering a geographical area of the UK. What I would like to do is try and increase the number of likes from our potential target audience in cities and towns that we cover. I don't think Facebook ads are the right choice as many users just ignore them, but would be interested in online and offline marketing strategies that could be used to boost numbers to our Facebook page. The reason this is so important especially in the home improvement space is that most projects are awarded on word of mouth recommendations, so Facebook is the perfect platform.

Facebook Contest: Fan or Not?
Let's say that I manage a Page for a company, and I run a contest through a "Promoted Post". Does every single Like to that "Promoted post" will be counted as new fan? My objective is to increase the fans number of the page, which is your best practice to achieve that through a Facebook contest? Many thanks.

Facebook Advertising Noob Question
Hello Mozzers, I have a noob question for which I have not been able to find a clear answer on the internet. When a client asks you how much would I have to spend on FB ads to get 100,000 fans how do you go about making a "media plan". I can understand you can calculate clicks using your budget and CPC but fans? Also, ad impressions on Facebook? FB doesn't even give that metric anymore on its default ad dashboard where you have campaign reach, social reach, CTR etc. So if a client wants 1Million Facebook Ad Impressions (I know, I know), how do you tell them how much its going to cost them. In a nutshell, clients want to know how much they should be spending to get x number of fans and impressions and vice versa, how many fans and impressions will $XXX get them. So how does one go about making a media plan for Facebook advertising, what do you include in it and well, anything else that I should know? Thank you, Rishad.
