Disavow links
-
I am working on an account that has had several seo companies
over the past year so around every corner I discover something new. One the
things I have found are that majority of links to the site is coming from an
outside blog but digging deeper I found that the blog is actually on the same
server as clients. Should I disavow links from that blog or should I leave it
alone? -
If the link isn't hurting you then why would you want to hurt yourself by telling Google to disavow it?
As Irving mentioned, the Disavow Links tool is a last measure not a go-to tool for every occasion. If bad links are really hurting your site then start reaching out to those other webmasters to remove the bad links (or at least nofollow them). If you've been algorithmically penalized due to bad links then you'll also need to start working on building a better, more robust link profile through outreach and try to grab some really good ones to help counteract the bad. If all works out well then offending sites will remove the bad links (hopefully without needing to pay), those links from good sites will show that you're working towards improvement and then after a refresh you'll hopefully see rankings start to bounce back. If people won't remove your links, are asking for exorbitant amounts of cash, or are flat out ignoring you... then you can consider the Disavow Links Tool.

I wouldn't draw attention with the disavow file unless your boxed in. Google clearly said it should be used as a method of last resort and they would even prefer that you write your story of link removal attempts in comments in the disavow file. Try to contact the blog editor or webmaster and ask to remove or nofollow your links. You may even offer payment for the removal.

Should I disavow these links?
Hi all, I have a ski website that I am currently performing a toxic backlink audit on. I have noted that a lot of the links being flagged as toxic/spammy by the tool I am using seem to be the same/similar sites with different URLs. The sites are vaguely related to skiing (relating to helicopter travel options for travelling to ski resorts) but it is concerning me that there are so many of them and they are being flagged as so toxic.

Do you think it is worth disavowing these? Or contacting the owner to ask them to remove the link? I have included an example of some of the links below. https://www.cannes-helicopters.co.uk/index.php?menuopen=21&showcontent=5
https://nice-helicopter.co.uk/index.php?menuopen=21&showcontent=5
https://monaco-helicopter.co.uk/index.php?menuopen=21&showcontent=5 Slightly different site but same favicon icon:

Why are my internal links up by thousands?
I recently carried out an internal link audit on our site and added around 100 links to other pages over relevant anchor text. One week later, Moz shows our internal links are up by 11k. Why?

Wierd link
We have recently receive linek from one website. The site is quite very powerful for the word we try to rank, however the link is kind of wired. This is how it looks like: http://villasdiani.com/?db The webmaster of the site said that he ads (?db) on the end so as we would see on our analytics the traffic from his site.. Also the link is from footer...is this good or it does not have value

Removal of Bad Links
Before I started doing SEO for the company I am currently working in, they had an Indian company doing loads of spammy SEO work for their site. My question is as follows; should i try to remove the links that were inserted there. I am doing link building now in a natural way, which obviously takes days to get a link - not minutes. I'm worried that the link profile is full of years of spammy links and I can't dilute it as fast as I would like. Here are a few links to different sites that the company created links on: http://youdoze.com/ http://www.video-bookmark.com/ http://mylinkvault.com/ http://www.puplinks.com/ http://huzoo.com/ How do I go about this?

How many nofollow links should we build to have a natural link profile
Hi guys, As with many link builders we have been building lots of dofollow links for our site, so many that mainly our incoming links are dofollow. Some pages have 99.5% dofollow external links which I know is not very natural. In your experience in terms of percentage how much should you have in terms of nofollow external links in your link profile. I noticed SEOMoz has about 12-13% nofollow external links, shall I go with this figure? Thanks guys. David
