Average time to see results after linkbuilding?
-
Hello everyone,
I did some linkbuilding in the last few weeks, most of these links are already indexed by Google when i check their Google-cache. But i don't see any improvements in my own positions, despite my backlinks are really good.
I'm now wondering, how long does it normally take to see position improvements after your linkbuilding? (Further the on page SEO is good and i'm regulary updating my website)
Regards,
Yannick

PA = Page Authority and DA = Domain Authority. These are values SEOmoz use to "emulate" PageRank (emulate may not be the best choice of words).
you can get access to these metrics via the SEOmoz toolbar or opensiteexplorer
-
Oke thank you, then i'll search a bit further
-
Page authority and domain authority; they are Seomoz metrics.
-
OK it looks like you'll need to create some more backlinks as 10 is unlikely to help you out much unless they are really high in quality, which isn't likely with article sites.
-
Thank you as well for your answer,
Then i'll just wait an extra few weeks, but what do you mean with 'PA' and 'DA'?, i haven't heard from these before i think
-
Thanks for your answer,
I'm targeting a keyword with 14,6 million results, i'm now at page 2 on top for that keyword. I created around 10 backlinks which are all related to my site-subject and these websites are already ranking ones targeting for the same keyword i'm targeting or branche-related websites. These are mostly article websites, blogs etc.
My competitors are not that special, their backlinks mostly come from crappy linkdirectories etc. And non of the 9 websites above me regulary updates their website. When i update my website with a new newspost it's get cached by google within half an hour.

Hi Yannick,
The time can vary hugely depending on the competitiveness of the terms you targeting.
A general rule of thumb I use is wait a month and check opensiteexplorer results, check PA and DA for improvements, if these metrics have improved then you should see some positive SERPs movement.
regards
Aran

Not a simple question I'm afraid. How competitive are the keywords you're targeting? How many and what type of backlinks did you create?
There are so many different variables, onsite and offsite. Can you give us a bit more information?

Is something strange going on with Google last few days?? Seeing strange results for competitive keywords
I am seeing some very strange results for competitive keywords. If I search on google.co.uk for "website design" which I feel is a pretty tough keyword. I see a site called http://www.techdesigns.co.uk/ If you go to the site its a laptop review site with no mention of website design on the site. They seem to be an Amazon Affiliate They have 23,597 links saying website design but mostly from adult websites. I have seen this on a few result related to SEO but dont want to mention any names in case we upset anyone on the forum. How can they rank for such a competitive keyword without onpage? Surely Panda should have hit this site? Why have they not been hit by Penguin so many adult links? Sorry if this is anyones site on here I am not looking to get you banned or hit just stumps me why this site ranks.

How to sell linkbuilding?
Howdy SEOmoz, I was wondering what your approach is in selling linkbuilding to clients (we're an agency). Do you sell it as "linkbuilding" or more like content creation/content marketing? do you bill by the hours, instead of project based? How would you calculate the number of hours required? (I know "it depends" :-), but still some insights would be cool) Do you start immediately with more creative strategies (widgets, infographics)? I'm really looking forward in learning how you guys tackle this. Best regards, Nik

Linkbuilding strategy for website development firm... some questions...
Hi there: I own a website development and internet marketing business. We began providing onpage optimization as a natural extension of our website design services for our clients. I'm now personally working on the backlinks for our site, and I have a question for someone with more insight than I currently possess: You folks are probably aware that many web design agencies post footer links in their client's site, with some sort of anchor text to the effect of "website designed by Blankety Blank..." I've read that these types of sitewide footer links are probably a wash, in terms of linkbuilding value. (Thoughts anyone?) My best sense is that they help a little, but not a lot. Which led me to my next stratagem, which I'd like some feedback on the merits of... I'm thinking of offering my clients a slight price reduction in exchange for a dedicated page on their site for attribution. It wouldn't be pure self-promotion in nature; really just a brief description of tools used to build the site and a backlink. It could be part of a pre-existing "partners" page on the site, if client has one, currently. (Some of ours do...) The net result of this would be a single backlink from the main body content of client's page. Is this a smart move? I'm wondering what others think...

We are looking for someone that can give us guarantee results on the first page of the major search engines. As well as showing us our benchmarks from where our keywords were previously to where they will be when the campaign is over. If anyone can help us out we really need some help.

Linkbuilding URL Problem
Hi, I work for Perfectly Engraved. A lot of our links point to http://www.perfectlyengraved.co.uk/. However that address forwards to - http://www.perfectlyengraved.co.uk/ecommerce/scripts/default.htm. Should we ensure our links point to http://www.perfectlyengraved.co.uk/ecommerce/scripts/default.htm or does it not make difference? I've put our forwarding code below. <%@ Language=VBScript %> <% Option explicit Response.Buffer = true Response.Redirect "http://www.perfectlyengraved.co.uk/ecommerce/scripts/default.htm" %> Also, would it help if we did a 301 redirect from http://perfectlyengraved.co.uk/ecommerce/scripts/default.htm to http://www.perfectlyengraved.co.uk/ecommerce/scripts/default.htm? As both addresses for every page on our site return the page with or without www Thanks
