My Blog needs more hits
-
Hi
I am trying to find a site which can help drive more traffic to my blog. At the moment I am only getting traffic from social media (namely twitter) but all other sources are failing me. Does anyone recommend a good site to either help with traffic or is able to ping out posts regularly. (even old ones.)

Better Design
I suggest upgrading the design of your blog so it's more custom. A sharp, custom design gives your blog a visual brand and helps you stand out. Also, make it more personal - use author bios, profile pictures, contact info, etc.Better Content
For us little guys, having phenomenal content is of the utmost importance important. Since you don't have a large following, you need to publish content that is completely unique and/or significantly better than any other content available on the topic.Example: I publish an article on 301 redirects. If my article article doesn't present important new information, and it's not better than the articles on 301s already on SEOmoz, SEJ, etc - very few people will bother to read, share, or link to my article. Why should they? There is an equally good or better article on a blog they already know and trust.
If you want to see significant success on social media, your content needs to be exceptional. Epic. Head and shoulders above the rest. Groundbreaking.
Marketing
To answer your question more directly, my suggestion for bloggers is to focus on social media and SEO. Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Inbound.org can be great traffic sources for exceptional content. If you want to do paid advertising, Outbrain can provide good traffic at 0.03 per click. Twitter ads can also be effective.I think that the design and content of your blog need to be improved before your marketing efforts will fully pay off, though. It's not that your blog is bad (it's not) but it's not yet exceptionally good.
Hope that helps. (All criticism was offered with the friendliest, most constructive attitude possible!)

you could try IFTT.com (if this then that) where you can automate your posts - i.e. if you post something to twitter, it posts it on facebook, tumblr etc.
I wouldn't really say that's a winner though and I don;t think the automated 'ping out posts' is a particularly good strategy. You need to be genuinely using more social media sites and engaging with your audience if you want them to become a loyal visitor to your blog.
It goes without saying that your visitors will return if they think the content is worth returning for.
Rather than searching for a solution for driving traffic to your blog, I would look to learn what makes a blog grown and become successful, encourages trust, loyalty and growth among your reader base.
Good keyword research and on page SEO for your articles will help you get organic traffic, but looking for a golden chalice traffic driver isn't the answer for any blogger these days.

Finding blog ideas and syndication
We've had our blog for a little under 2 years now using Magento and we've only created 48 posts. As we're in the furniture industry topics are hard to come by and we've become stuck for ideas. Sure we have researched our audience, checked Q&A's and forums to analyse what questions our audience are asking, but the ideas are limited. It's a difficult industry to find niche articles that our audience would be interested in. Could anyone suggest any ideas on how we could find interesting topics that people would actually want to share and maybe our industry influencers would be interested in featuring on their sites, does syndication still work? Duplicate content is a big 'NO NO' for Google but as long as the third party site features a rel=canonical or link back to our original post, Google wouldn't have any problem with this?

We are contemplating whether to put a blog on our site.
The reasons we want to put one up is obviously for SEO reasons but since we are a small business with limited resources the higher ups are worried that we will start strong but slack off. Some feel that it's worse to start and not keep up the blog as it gives an unprofessional vibe to google and other users. I maintain that I will try to keep it up to the best of my abilities and that it's better to have something than nothing. What do you feel and do you have any experiences in this?

Does having blog on subdomain weaken primary site's SEO?
I have a Joomla site with a WordPress subdomain that I'm wanting to use as a learning center. It's far more simple for new blog editors and publishers to learn that over Joomla. The issue I'm facing is trying to figure out rather having the blog put into the primary domain instead of a subdomain will hurt my ratings at all? Where I got the idea that it may hurt ratings is due to how (from what I understand) search engines will see a subdomain slightly different than the primary domain. Thank you for any help!

2,500 Word blog post? What's your advice?
Most of my blog posts end up being 400-600 words, sometimes more, sometimes less. I have written one that is 2,500 words this time. If it were you, would you make one huge post, or split it into two or three? Or would you say it wholly depends on my site and the type of content? As far as link bait goes, one page is better . . . I guess. But would anyone ever read a 2,500 word blog post, even it it's about a subject he/she is interested in? Additionally, what's better for SEO? Just wants some second opinions. Thanks!

Handling duplicate content in Blogs
Many wordpress themes like mine have a homepage where the last 3 to 4 posts are displayed on the frontpage. Each post also has its own url where the post are shown seperately. How do I avoid beeing seen as duplicate content by Google?

Duplicate Page Content WordPress blog with categories?
Just got a crawl report back from SEOmoz and it gives me lots of errors for "duplicate page content". Upon investigating, I notice this is because my WP blog is setup into categories so the home page is almost identical to one of the category pages. None of my actually posts are the same but the category pages have some overlap since the same post could show up in two or more categories. Is this a problem or can I just ignore this error? Any thing I should be doing differently? Thanks!

I have created 2 blogs for a client as they have 2 domains (1 for their core business, and 1 for a product). I want to use the same content on both blogs. What is the best way to set this up so there are no ranking or duplicate content issues?
We are pushing SEO for only one of the domains, therefore I would like one to be dominant. We will be sending the blog post via email to their database, therefore each blog needs to have the same content. Thank you!

Why does my lousy little blog Rank number 1 on Google?
Search "Google Places Changes." My Blog, www.salesjumpstart.net/blog is ranked first. Has been for a week. Why? Makes no sense. I have been getting many first page Google results for 3 and 4 word keyword searches. The site or Blog just isn't that strong. http://www.google.com/search?q=Google+places+hchanges&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#sclient=psy&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=uFR&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&source=hp&q=Google+places+changes&pbx=1&oq=Google+places+changes&aq=f&aqi=g2g-j1g-b1&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=4293l4293l0l4628l1l1l0l0l0l0l271l271l2-1l1l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=661c0b1152c259b4&biw=1024&bih=583
