Image Gallery - Name of the image files
-
I would like to know If I have a image gallery in my website, what name must I put in the image files? Can I associate with the my key-word?
Ex: Post about pizza buffet, and than... the images can have the name "pizza-buffet-01, pizza-buffet-02"? Is it wrong?
Thank you

Hi,
Allow me to join your discussion. I just want to make sure I understand it as it is. It will be fine if I have the following images on a single page? For example:
Image:Alt
pizza-buffet-01.jpg:Pizza Buffet 1
pizza-buffet-02.jpg:Pizza Buffet 2
pizza-buffet-03.jpg:Pizza Buffet 3
pizza-buffet-04.jpg:Pizza Buffet 4
Thank you!

You are accurately describing the images - definitely not spam. The more descriptive you can be, the better (which would also differentiate the file names).
Having files named pizza-buffet-pizzeria-best-pizza-buffet-1.jpg would be spammy.
-
But it's okay that the keyword appears in several photos at same time? This may seem a spam keywords?
Because there are several situations the same service, with a lots of photos and all of them would be appearing on the same keyword...

Yep, what you have is good. The image names/alt should be keyword friendly and describe the image. It would be better if you described it even more i.e. pizza-buffet-marriot, pizza-buffet-hilton

Questions about optimization for Google Images
Hello all, I've got a few quick questions about optimization for Google Image search. Would be great if someone could help me out with these. Is it possible to track and seperate visitors that reach my website through the images presented in the SERP's? Should we avoid changing high ranking pictures on important keywords? If we need to change the pictures what would the best strategy be? Replace the original filename and alt tag of the picture? Keep the orignal pictures but change the location of the pictures to a new post on our website? Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know a browser extension that could show me the position an image has in Image Search?
Hello and thank you for your attention! Does anyone know a browser extension that could show me the image ranking in Google Image SERP - similar to what SEOmoz Tool does for regular search - shows you a number under each result, in the left side. Thank you so much!

WordPress image file names SEO question
I’m using a plugin to upload images directly from Adobe Lightroom to WordPress and while the process is very convenient it adds “wpid-“ to the beginning of every image file name, so my “seo-friendly-image-title.jpg” becomes “wpid-seo-friendly-image-title.jpg”. The plugin author claims that it’s a WordPress thing and there isn’t anything he can do about it, yet it doesn’t happen when using the same plugin to upload to the NextGen Gallery Plugin instead of the built in WordPress media manager. I’m not really a fan of NextGen though so I’d rather use the built in WordPress media management. This is obviously an SEO forum not a WordPress troubleshooting forum, but I wanted to give a bit of background. My question is whether that “wpid-” at the beginning of all my image file names is going to cause any sort of SEO issue. If not, I won’t worry about it, but if it does I’ll have to either find another plugin or just go back to exporting from Lightroom to the desktop and then uploading through WordPress. Thanks in advance for any input.

Text Images
I have created an infographic using easel.ly. I want to upload this to my blog but I'm just concerned whether Google will see it as an image or will it be able to read all the text that is on it. Any thoughts?

What is the best way to internally link via images?
What is the best way to internally link via images? I have a website about shoes with all different brands. Let's say I'm trying to rank for "ABC sandals", and on the ABC page I have a "related brands" section with 4 logos of related sandal brands, linking to their respective page. Currently the alt text of the logos is "XYZ Logo" with the link title text "XYZ." Would it be beneficial to have change either the image alt text, or the link title text, or both to "XYZ sandals"?

Hosting All Content Images On Flickr For Blog - What are SEO implications?
Hi, I am starting a travel blog and thought of the idea of hosting all the content images over at Flickr and just calling them into my blog content when needed. Benefits: push traffic over to my Flickr account pull traffic from Flickr to my blog However, I was just wondering about any SEO implications of having 3-4 links per post pointing to Flickr. Is this spammy? Will I lose my juice? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
