Google is changing the title
-
Hi!
Lately i have seen that Google changed the page titles for some clients, not all... its about 30% of them.
For example, the title looks likes this after the Google change:
Company name: SEO and Pay per click management
But in on that page it looks like this:
SEO and Pay per click management - Company name
Does anyone know why?

I've seen the same thing on some of my sites...
This guy provides a pretty good analysis
http://socialmediatoday.com/georgestevens48/1317336/google-rewriting-page-titles-time-brand
It sounds like it's not so much about colons, but more about moving brands to the front of the title. Only time will tell whether it's a test or a permanent change.
I also want to add that I've seen this for general searches that do not include my company name / brand.

Hi Lynn!
In this case im doing a search without company name, like "SEO"

Hi Vincenzo!
I just sent you some screenshots. Please take a look at them. And get back to me if you need more info.

Thanks! I will take a look at the articles.

Interesting links, I hadn't seen these.
In my case the colon is not being used, although the original site title has a pipe separator in it. The page title is being displayed as the exact search phrase (which admittedly is not far off the original page title) but with rearranged wording and a couple of words left out entirely!
I'm in a non English market, not sure how that might effect the results.

Hey Daniel
You might be interested in reading this article and this thread on Inbound.org that brought this up a couple of weeks ago.
Too early to say what the potential ramifications might be, but I would say it's a safe assumption to make that Google is focusing more on more on promoting trustworthy brands. Bringing the brand name to the front often helps the user navigate through the SERPs, as opposed to the SEO optimised titles that we see out there.
Think we'll have to wait and see on this one, but hopefully those 2 links can help for the time being.

I have seen this also on a client site.
Not sure by any means, but it seems to happen when the search is for company brand + term, which i think is happening quite a lot in the market my client's site is in.
So in your case, if there are searches being done for 'Company name' + PPC Management for example, then Google seems to be switching the page title to match the search phrase.
That is what I could make out of it anyway... anyone else seeing this?
-
Is there a common denominator with the sites -
Wordpress - etc?
I am curious to see an example - if you could private message me - or even email me.
Your pal,
Chenzo

Homepage is deindexed in Google
We recently noticed that our primary page was de-indexed in Google. When looking in google search console there are no manual actions taken. We did add a few new banners to the site but I have no idea why this would have negatively affected that site. I did add a new page called https://enleaf.com/company/testimonials/ that had some duplicate testimonials that were also on the home page but have since removed that. Not sure where to go from here.

Page Title Displaying differently on Google
Hi i am wondering why page title is display differently on google search. The combination of words that are being displayed on google are not on the page and the page title is simply "Camera Filters", however the page is showing as "our range of Camera Filters" (with the same capitalisation). http://awesomescreenshot.com/0cf4r09y27 I have optimised the age as best i can so it removes the OUR RANGE OF preface, however no luck. Any info would be appreciated. Cheers

Title Missing or Empty
Hello, I get a 'Title Missing or Empty' for the following page on our website: http://www.niyati.sg/print-design/57/annual-report-design This error is seen while checking through other tools like Screaming Frog also. Any idea what the issue may be? The page is generated through a custom CMS, so the title and meta descriptions are created the same way as the other portfolio pages, none of which shows any errors. Thanks in advance!

Google Schema Code for Organisation
I've created the Google Schema code for an organisation. Should this go in the template HTML so it would be shown on all pages or just on the home page?

What changes do i need to make to my site to get into google news
Hi, when we had the old design, we were in google news but then when we upgraded our site, we had a major problem which forced us to have to redesign our site. Since then we have not been included in google news and we would like to get back in. We only want to be in google news for the following page http://www.in2town.co.uk/Latest-News-Headlines But for some reason, no matter what we do we keep getting knocked back. I would love to know what we should be doing to get into google news and see what the problems are. We have moved to a bigger dedicated server to increase speed so i know it is not that. Any help would be great Also is there an alternative to google news that i can get our site into to generate traffic and to get our news stories straight out to people Hi, Thank you for your note. Title tag not changing in Google. Can somebody take a look for me?
I'm using Yoast SEO plugin for the website. The website is http://www.emerypharmaservices.com. It appears on the webpage, the title tag is correct (home page should be Contract Laboratory Research Services for Analytical Chemistry and Microbiology), however, in Google it only says Emeryville Pharmaceutical Services. Could this be due to my settings? Please advise. Thank you

0 Google Backlinks
A sudden drop in the number of google backlinks. Earlier this month I had 15 google backlinks and now all of a sudden I have none. My google impression has also dropped drastically, my website's average is 10000 impression per day and now we have none. I have increased the crawler's speed on the website, would this be the cause of it? 4pmdesign.com
