New article algorithm changes -- links allowed
-
hey guys,
i understand that google has made algorithm changes for article writing in that only one link is allowed now per 500 words.
would this include the "author resource" box if you don't place links in the body?
any suggestions would be great:
Due to the latest changes in Google's algorithms, regarding the proportions between the length of the content to the outbound links, ArticleSlash's requirements are changing effective immediately. • - For articles with up to 500 words, we will allow only one hyperlink • - For Articles up to 900 words - two hyperlinks • - For articles with 900 words and above - three hyperlinks Short articles with many outbound links are running the chance to get into Google's spam filters, which is why we are implementing this change, effective immediately.

and very interesting regarding about this directory

With the greatest respect, I don't think you should be taking SEO advice from an article directory that has been deindexed from Google.
By all means, you shouldn't stuff your content with a lot of links, but there is no golden rule that says "1 link per X words". I can think of a ton of examples where having a lot of links together in a short space of time is natural and nigh on a necessity.
I'd worry less about what you can and cannot link and think about what kind of content you're producing and where you're publishing it instead. Article directories have passed very little to no value for a long time now, since the big Google updates. In fact, having links from a deindexed site can be very harmful to your own site. If you have links on ArticleSlash I would actually remove your articles ASAP.
Look to publish your content on your own blog or reputable blogs that are related to your industry. MyBlogGuest is a great place to find some of these blogs, you can visit it here: http://myblogguest.com
Focus less on building links when you're blogging and more about writing for your target audience. If you manage this and offer quality content, then the links will come as a result.

Backlinks - Linking to new domain
Hello Moz community! My established client recently franchised their business by adding a metro area location. We have thousands of back links built to the corporate website, a lot of which have anchor text that are geo-targeted to the new metro area website. We still find the corporate website important, but would rather focus our efforts now on the newly franchised location. Does anyone have experience with successfully having old links changed to a new domain and if so how? When changing directory listings, such as everything on get listed, is it better do do slowly or as much at once as possible? Any recommendations or information would be appreciated! Thanks!

Outbound links
We are working with a large, global customer that has asked us to link to their website from about 5,000 pages of our website. The links would either point to one page on their website, or they would point to specific pages throughout their website. Is this a bad thing from an SEO perspective, as in - would either of us be penalized from search engines for doing this?

Advetorial links
How do you scientifically value advertorial links. I have a site who is willing to buy advertorial in large online sites which will contain links. (I would prefer they invested in content on their own site). The DA on these sites is universally extremely strong. the PA of the examples I've seen is pretty low. The site has strong DA matching it's main competition and is performing pretty well in terms of ranking. Question: how do you value this kind of link in terms of the amount of £ the publications want to charge. Anybody have a formula or a logical process which would provide solid advice rather than don't infringe Google's T&C's which I've already mentioned to them. Any thoughts appreciated.
