When Search for Blog Guest and to Post, What is the FIRST Metric to lookk at???
-
I have a online store selling furnace filters. For link building, I started to post on guest blogs
I'm new to posting on guest blog and I would like to know what are the most important metrics to look at when selecting a blog?
The P.A. ???
I did a few test and this is what I did:
-
in the Goolge-BLOG tab option search for K.W like: ''furnace filters'' ''air furnace filters''
-
Look at Google results and (MozBar is installed on browser) slect blog with P.A. of 15 or higher
-
Read the post and if I have a relevant content to add, post on the blog and had my infos, store url...
-
Then I keep the blog URL and see if my post get approve and publish.
Thank you,
BigBlaze

That's a pretty solid method, but I think you need to look at a few more things at the same time. I don't think it's completely safe to look at just 1 metric.
PA and DA is a good one - but look at how many outbound links are on the homepage, particularly if they have a blogroll. If I see a blog that looks like it's selling text links in the blog roll or footer, I don't want to post there because the blog could find itself deindexed. If you have a link from a deindexed site, it could harm your rankings.
I'd also look at social media metrics and comment count. Whenever I guest blog, I want to make sure I'm posting for an active, engaged audience - links are secondary to this. Maybe look at the first 5 blog posts and count how many comments they all have. Maybe look for blogs with at least 3 comments in the first 5 posts.
There are a number of other things to consider as well, such as checking if the site is in a bad neighbourhood, but for a quick check of a lot of potential blogs, I think PA, Outbound links and comments are a good place to start. Before posting, however, I'd always check the rest of the metrics.

What platform is it better to write my blogs
In a nutshell, I have a website and on the web site I have a rolling blog updated regularly with informative ,interesting and non pushy original material. However . I notice that my website blog has a lower page and domain Authority than my original platform which is on Googles very own platform "blogger" . Should I use Blogger or the website ? or would it be better to promote the website blog on blogger ? or am I over thinking this ?

Is having two blogs bad?
I'm under the impression we should only have one blog, but the company I work for wants to have our original blogger site AND link it to a blog on our website. We're basically just duplicating content, which I know to be bad. Is there any benefit to using both? If not, (which I'm guessing there isn't) which one should we keep? Does google prefer we use blogger, instead of putting it on our company site? Do the links we get from blogger help for SEO more than just putting it on our site? Any advice would be appreciated. P.S. The Blogger account has been around longer, but it doesn't have substantial traffic. It gets about 200 pages vies a month, right now. However, the one on the website gets far less than that.

Rewrite of blog posts
I have to admit. Sometimes, when i write a blog post, I'm a bit lazy. I don't concentrate on the on page optimization portion of the blog post. I used to. But, as of late, I haven't. I was wondering if it was worth it to tweak my blog posts just a bit with a few keywords to improve my on page optimization. Or, do you think that it is too late and not worth the trouble.

Wordpress blog, transferring .com to .org
For many years now we've had a wordpress.com blog, and accumulated a lot of links from it as a result. We now have a wordpress.org blog and are keen to move all the old posts on to the new .org site. How can this be done without losing the links from the old .com blog? Thanks in advance.

Google Site Search
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had used Google Site Search before and what they thought of it? http://www.google.com/sitesearch/ It seems quite expensive for just returning your own pages but would be interested to find out more. Thanks
