Yahoo and Bing Search Factors Compared with Google
-
I have started my research to list all the factors Yahoo or Bing giving more importance compared with Google. This bible if successfully prepared will help everybody. Can anybody help me resources specific on the topic, that can help me?
-
This still isn't Yahoo/Bing vs. Google but at least it's some factors that matter more to Bing, which can then be compared to how they affect rankings in Google.

Haha, I was asking about this just last week! http://www.seomoz.org/q/what-are-the-differences-between-google-seo-and-bing-seo
Unfortunately the discussion didn't get too much further than me saying what I got out of the link you posted above, a couple people saying do what's good for all search engines, and the rest from outside the US commenting that Google is 90% of search traffic in their country so they don't worry about Yahoo and Bing specifics.
All of which is good info but none of it answered my question. Maybe you'll have better luck?

I know there are already lot of stuff available that give us comparison factors. i like http://www.seomoz.org/blog/google-vs-bing-correlation-analysis-of-ranking-elements
Yes Google is the search leader but i do not want to miss the opportunity if we can get with a little extra efforts. Is there any google vs. yahoo comparison?

Hi Asif, This is something I have started to study. As Bing is fairly new I have always imagined it to be similar to Google's algorithm 2-3 years ago. Bing is not Microsoft’s primary income so the r&d within Bing will be relatively small compared to Google. As i believe 90-95% of Google's income is Ad words and Google currently has 90% of the UK's searches. If you need any help within the research just drop me a line I would be happy to help. As you say it would help everyone. There are a few websites dedicated to Bing SEO but offer no specific comparison.
Yahoo seems to be more advanced than Bing. You can do a lot more in Yahoo site explorer than Bing & Google's webmaster tools. Yahoo I have always ranked well in its primarily Bing that’s a concern.

How to remove the inbound links of a website from Google Webmaster Tools?
Hello viewers, One of my projects (BannerBuzz.com) is having linked with this Site: http://www.article-niche.com/ and we can see so many inbound links in our Webmaster account from this site, we have already disavowed this site but still it is found in our Webmaster Tools and we don’t have option to mail them as the site is down, so kindly anyone help us out how to remove this back-links and I want to remove it from my Webmaster account as well as from “Search Results” as the site is down. Currently as this site is show down from long time and because of its back-links, our website (BannerBuzz.com) has been penalized by Google.

SEO For Local Searches
I run a driving school of over 100 instructors in the UK. We cover around 60 different areas. My homepage www.driveJohnsons.co.uk is optimised for 'driving lessons' and 'driving school' search terms mainly. My area pages are optimised for the same but with the area included ie: Driving Lessons Birmingham or Driving Lessons Leeds I've taken a drop in many areas... I've cleaned up my incoming links using the disavow too and upped more relevant links associated with the same industry as myself. The question i have is should i change my URL's for my area pages from www.driveJohnsons.co.uk/driving-lessons-leeds to: www.driveJohnsons.co.uk/leeds I've been told stuffing the URL with keywords for an area actually dilutes the strength of my homepage and all the other areas. At the moment i have 60 area pages with: www.drivejohnsons.co.uk/driving-lessons-area It use to work a treat, but i've started seeing some companies change their URLs to: /area and excluding the driving-lessons If i make this change then i'm either going to have to bit the bullet on build up links for those areas again or do a redirect for each area. I've added most areas to google places and i've added google map to many of area pages too. If anyone knows a bit more, please let me know...

Are large property portals going to continue to dominate Google's search results?
We are having a discussion (potential argument) in our office around whether large portals (namely property portals) have longevity in Google's search. Argument 1:
Industry News | | NeilPursey
Google's rise in local search and rewarding strong brand names rather than keyword driven domain names will devalue property portals with keyword rich domain names. Property portals are essentially duplicating content on smaller individually owned property websites, therefore in time Google will devalue property portals. **Argument 2: **
Property portals have more property stock listed on their websites so therefore Google will reward them by ranking these websites higher than the smaller real estate agencies with niche stock in their areas that they operate in. The property portals that already are already in a dominate position already carry authority and their own sense of branding, therefore it's difficult for Google to ignore them. If we assume that Google is looking into user behaviour as a ranking factor, then this will help portals as they have more stock which means higher engagement on the website. I'd love to read the moz community thoughts and opinions on this. I reckon it's a worthy debate..0 -

Google Alert not working - anyone else have this problem?
I have a Google Alert that has stopped pulling in recent results even though a web search indicates that the pages are being indexed. None of the alert settings have changed. Anyone else have this happen recently and know how to remedy this problem?

Organic Search Results Display
If you do a Google search on northface a beautiful display of the search results is show in the number 1 organic position. How are they able to get this type of search results? I have never seen anything like it before, and would like to have our search results displayed like this.

Hreview marked snippets are displayed in a new way in search results!
Getting our reviews to show in the serps is starting to become a crusade 😞 After 6 months of submitting our Hreview marked up content, Google responded with that we had a hidden div within the marked up content, to rectify and then resubmit, which we did. 4 months on, we haven't heard anything, and still no sign of our reviews showing up in the search results until today I noticed we now have a review link in the search results (or see attached see image). It's not quite what I was after, so is this Google experimenting? Have we marked something up wrong? Or do we just have to be more patient, so our listing is presented the same as everyone else, such as Qype, Touch, Yelp etc? Seems to be a very painful process! So any pointers very gratefully received 🙂 review-results.gif

Google Panda 2.5 Update?
On Sunday 18th Sept I noticed a huge drop in our rankings for keywords that we were doing extremely well. Majority of the keyword SERP positions for our main targetted keywords were #1 and #2. These have all drop the bottom part of first page. Other new keywords we were targetting had climbed very well (some hovering just below top 10 and some in top 10 of Google UK SERP. These have all completely dropped off. Although analysing the site thouroughly (both on-page and link profile) it doesnt appear to have any issue significant enough to cause a penalty. From Monday 20th Sept (everybody back to work) the threads here http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/thread?tid=76830633df82fd8e&hl=en&start=5760 and http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/4364389.htm seem to be buzzing over unexpected SERP drops and increases. By that I assume Panda 2.5 or at least some form of update taken/taking place? If anybody know of the reent heavy fluctuations which seem to have started in the weeken or have experienced unexpected positions increaes/drops, I would be very interested to hear/read from you. Cheers, Mo Raja
