How much does the content that you've found contribute to the page? Is it 10% of the page? 15%? More?
I ask because there appears to be a threshold, an invisible line in the sand if you will, that will tell the SEOMoz crawler and the Google bot. Some duplicate content is always to be expected - after all site navigations are replicated on every page. With my current client as well, we need to have a risk warning and an FSA disclaimer on each page of our website for legal reasons. We've not been flagged for duplicate content because we add as much rich and unique content to the page as possible. So you have some degree of leniency.
If the duplicate content takes up most of the content on the page and the crawler hasn't flagged it, it may not have been able to find it. In this case, fix the duplicate content issue ASAP, but then look at your site architecture to see if a crawler could easily access the page in less than 5 steps/links - and check your source code to see if there's any meta data blocking crawlers in the header and also in your robots.txt file.
Hope this helps!

it is the index page of the site

It could well be that one of the pages on which the duplicate content exists has a NoIndex tag - have you checked that? That way it wouldn't be picked up by search engines.
Or, is one of the pages simply low down the webpage food chain and not being picked up at all?

Duplicate Content in WordPress Taxonomies & Noindex, Follow
Hello Moz Community, We are seeing duplicate content issues in our Moz report for our WordPress site’s Tag pages. After a bit of research, it appears one of the best solutions is to set Tag pages to “no index, follow” within Yoast. That makes sense, but we have a few questions: In doing this, how are we affecting our opportunity to show up in search results? Are there any other repercussions to making this change? What would it take to make the content on these pages be seen as unique?

Duplicate content on SearchResults.asp
hi guys. I'm currently working through the reported crawl errors in Moz Analytics, but an unsure what to do about some of them. for example... Searchresults.asp?search=frankie+says+relax is showing as having duplicate page content and page title as SearchResults.asp?searching=Y&sort=13&search=Frankie+Says+Relax&show=24 There's all sorts of searchresults.asp page being flagged. Is this something i can safely ignore or is it something i should endeavour to rectify? I'm also getting errors reported on shoppingcart.asp pages as well as pindex.asp (product index). I'm thinking i should maybe add disallow/ shoppingcart.asp to my robots text file, but am unsure as to whether i should be blocking robots from the search results pages and product index (which is essentially a secondary sitemap). Any advice would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks, Dave 🙂

Forward slash on URL on Duplicate Content Report
Hi I'm new to this whole Moz thing, so needing help from some kind people! I've just looked at my Duplicate Page Content report and there are loads of URLs in there which are the same but are just differentiated by adding / at the end of the URL, e.g. http://youngepilepsy.org.uk/news-and-events/events http://youngepilepsy.org.uk/news-and-events/events/ Is this be a canonical issue? I can't understand why though as these aren't at the root. However when we add inline text links within the page HTML, there are some URLs with / and some without, could that be the reason? Thanks for your help! Jackie

Duplicate Page Titles & Content
We have just launched a new version of a website and after running it through SEOMOZ we have over 6000 duplicate title & content errors. (awesome) 😕 We have products that show up multiple times under different URLs however we "thought" we had implemented the rel=canonical correctly. My question is - do these errors still show up in SEOMOZ despite the canonical tags being there OR if they were "correct" would we be getting "zero" errors?

Duplicate pages with canonical links still show as errors
On our CMS, there are duplicate pages such as /news, /news/, /news?page=1, /news/?page=1. From an SEO perspective, I'm not too worried, because I guess Google is pretty capable of sorting this out, but to be on the safe side, I've added canonical links. /news itself has no link, but all the other variants have links to "/news". (And if you go wild and add a bunch of random meaningless parameters, creating /news/?page=1&jim=jam&foo=bar&this=that, we will laugh at you and generate a canonical link back to "/news". We're clever like that.) So far so good. And everything appears to work fine. But SEOMoz is still flagging up errors about duplicate titles and duplicate content. If you click in, you'll see a "Note" on each error, showing that SEOMoz has found the canonical link. So SEOMoz knows the duplication isn't a problem, as we're using canonical links exactly the way they're supposed to be used, and yet is still flagging it as an error. Is this something I should be concerned about, or is it just a bug in SEOMoz?

Duplicate page content reports duplicates, but pages don't show duplication
My duplicate page reports shows 376 pages with duplicate content. After reviewing the pages the report claims have duplicate content, i can't find duplications. could this be an error, or is there some source code that doesn't display that could be causing this issue?
