Which kind of testimonials increase more the conversion rate of and e-commerce website?
-
In an e-commerce website is it better to have:
a) Email of happy customers.
b) Reviews of customers ad hoc.
c) VIPs that use the product in sale in the website.Which of these from your direct experience works better?
Please show us what is working and what is not from your experience, suggestion, ideas, best practice to create an effective testimonial section of and e-commerce website are appreciated!
Many thanks in advance,
YESdesign team
ps. we don't have the budget for images and or videos…

Many Thanks Irving.
Do you have a couple of example of e-commerce that use that with microformatting? Just to understand what are the best practices in doing that.
-
I agree, i would ask the company if they have a plug in or some work around. if this CMS doesn't support it, maybe it makes sense to look at a CMS that is more up to date
reviews are in (also microformatting rich snippets will show the stars in search results) - testimonials often seem fake, anyone can write and post anything on their site. with reviews you can see where it is coming from so lends credibility.

Hi Johnny4B, thank you for your advice.
Unfortunately the e-commerce CMS does not support the product review and we have no budget for let the deveolper to add that functionality.
Do you know some "review website" in which every e-commerce should invest energy/time/money to be in?
Many thanks again.

Why not product reviews, used by almost every e-commerce website .... And used by me when I shop online
I imagine they are without doubt the most powerful sort of review on an e-commerce website, assuming of course they are good reviews

Anyone have a collection or list of spammy websites?
Random I know. I started a fun pet project at www.me-not-spammer.info. Total spam. Totally says it's not spam. Satire and all, something only SEO people will get really. Anyway I want to make a sidebar of other "not spammers" and need to find a bunch of spammy websites. Problem is they don't rank in search engines obviously so I know of only the ones who leave comments on some of my wordpress sites. Anyone have a list of a bunch of them so I can link to them in my blogroll?

Website Building: Best practices for SEO and user interaction
I'm a noobie when it comes to SEO, with my knowledge coming from a few books and blogs. What are some of the best practices that you use when building a website for SEO and for user interaction? I've read about the following, but am not sure if they are still relevant. Also if you have any other suggestions, they would be appreciated. -Phone # above fold line. -A call to action above fold line on each page -An HTML sitemap -Terms & Conditions (supposed to create credibility in Googles eyes) -NAP in the footer of each page -Optimize each page for 1 unique keyword Are these correct and is there anything else that I'm missing?

Does it do any damage to post my blogs for marketing community websites on my own website too?
I'm blogging quite often for one of the biggest marketing community's in the Netherlands and I want to post these blogs on our own company's weblog too. Our own blog is meant for sharing professional know how and boosting our identity as professional web agency. But off course, we also benefit from it SEO wise. If I post these blogs on our own weblog, I have to add a link to the original article on the marketing community website. So, my question is: will that cause any damage for our own website?

Tons of Long-Tail Conversion Terms -- What Should We Do?
A friend of mine runs a website that recently got hit with Penguin. His site now longer has authority. But he does have a long list of very similar longtail phrases. Example: Dog Food for Cheap Cheap Dog Food Organic Dog Food Home Made Dog Food Dog Chow Organic Dog Chow Basically, these are all about the same thing. But, he'd love to write content that has the exact longtail phrase in the title.. but not over-stuff it. He feels that if he puts it on the same site, it might look too spammy in G's eyes. But how would one go about doing it? I realize he should "Theme" this info -- but what does that really mean? Its all kind of the same theme.. IS there a way to do it in wordpress with categories? Please -- we'd love your help. We are also curious about how to run ANY site in the post-penguin world without adding redundant content.

Duplicate Websites
What would you do if a competitor had their main domain, and then another domain targeting your local area with the same exact content? That's currently happening to me, and I'm not sure what I should do about it, if anything: http://www.bozemanchevrolet.com and http://www.montanachevy.com
