Hi all-

I'm a bit confused and hope someone may have an idea. In the last few days, traffic to our site has taken a big hit, so much so that I even got an email from webmaster tools that the home page was receiving significantly less traffic. I can't find anything particular that we changed that should have this much of an effect, but then again, I have been shortsighted in the past

The site is bulkcandystore.com and if anyone has any thoughts, I would appreciate it.

Never mind-

It looks like Google was basing it on just 2 days, which turned out to be Easter and I guess people already had their Easter candy!

How my website is dropping?

Hello there guys! My website www.ntcbrasil.com.br is dropping comparing to my competitors. My main keyword is: geotextil
And my main competitor is: www.mantasbrasil.com.br We have better and original content. We have better structure website with better SEO practice (so a i thought). I'm not able to find out what's making the difference between my website dropping and my competitors raking first. New content cause for drop? Still showing old cache though...

About 10 days ago I added about 750 words of new text to a homepage as it was simply a sign up landing page and rather sparse. I presumed that by adding content it would help google understand the content of the site as it is a single page on the root domain (as soon as users sign up they go to a subdomain). Yesterday though the site recieved a huge drop in traffic and now recieves almost no organic traffic at all from google. I've done the obvious like checked WMT for messages but I'm not sure as to what caused the drop. As far as I'm aware there were no confirmed google updates on 7/6/13. The strange thing is that when I check the google cache its about 3 weeks old so I'm guessing google is using the old cache to reference my site content against search queries. Does that mean the changes I made are not the cause for the drop in rankings? The title tag however has changed when the site is showin in the SERPS. How can that be if google has an old cache?

On Site Problem Caused Rankings To Drop?

I'm getting to the bottom of why my site dropped rankings on the 9th March. I noticed that in google there is a cached version of my site on 9th March at 8.37am which is when my rankings dissapeared. Presumably this is when google last crawled my site? I guess this means that google found something on the home page or on the site that it didn't like? I wonder if anyone can take a look and let me know if there's anything obvious. Could it be a duplicate content penalty as I have lots of categories pulling content from the same posts?

Troubleshooting Drop in Rank - could it be one of these?:

At nlpca(dot)com, we've had a drop in rank of like 13 slots for our main term "NLP". Could this be caused by?: Adding keywords to title and meta tags that are not completely relevant to page. For example, "degree programs" on this page http://www.nlpca.com/DCweb/nlp-salt-lake-city-and-bay-area The word "degree" and "programs" do not show up on that page, but "program" does. Our courses are 'certification programs' but maybe 'degree programs' is not close enough. Adding keywords to title that do not show up in page. The same keyword "degree programs" is a good example. Another example is the keyword "learn about NLP" on this page: http://www.nlpca.com/DCweb/learn-about-nlp-techniques Targeting 2 different locations (California and Utah) Having our title 2 characters too big on the home page (we used to) And lastly, Do you think our ranking drop is reversible if it's on-site SEO? Can Anyone Explain Ranking Drop?!?

Good Morning, I'm hoping someone out there can try and help me figure out what has caused my site to drop from #6 to #10 to #14 and now #19 for my main keyword.. ( My Site is : http://goo.gl/JgK1e ) I am convinced that my site has the best/most unique content in this niche. Every other site uses the same manufacturer descriptions and info and i have added text to certain pages to try and give them more unique content. I believe that my site is very easy to use and navigate, and should be considered a great user experience... Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks

Huge rewrite and drop in ratings

Hi, My website provider made a huge rewrite of code to make the website more SEO friendly and add more functions. It absolutely was a big step forward and gave me more possiblities to improve our site seo wise. We were actually first webshop of 200-300 on the new platform - and thats not always a good idea i guess 😉 I need some help on the best way to solve 1 big problem for us. They changed the URL structure. Ive been building the brand pages and have 2-6 linking root domains to each brand page: for the brand ej sikke lej the catalogue used to be : http://www.epleskrinet.no/ej_sikke_lej/M_16 they changed it to http://www.epleskrinet.no/manufacturers/ej-sikke-lej . I told them the same day the new version was ot the the optimal URL would be http://www.epleskrinet.no/ej-sikke-lej . It wasnt utill i saw the crawl i understood what the URL change would mean to us. We have a decent amount of organic searches and now visitors come to an empty page with an error message. to the brand ej sikke lej i have 6 linking domains going to this page. The new brand pages are a lot weaker then the old one since they dont have the ingoing links. Our site was indexed yesterday and the result rankingwise wasent pretty. How do i go about to fix this. Is it possible to -301 redirect old brad catalogues to new one ? They are not even in the new site map i am sending in. Thanks

Dropped rankings due to too many links, help needed

We have just re-designed our site and added a big drop-down navigation menu to help users get straight to the category/sub-category they are looking for, take a look at http://www.discountfiresupplies.co.uk to see what I mean. Since doing so our rankings have dropped which we've been told may be because there are now so many links on (particularly) the home page diluting the rankings of that page. We've been advised that if we hide the drop-down menus using "style='display: none'" until they are required that the search engines will ignore them which we have now done but is this correct or will they still be indexed? And if so do you have any other suggestions? Thanks, Tariq

Why did our ranking go up, then drop down again?

Hello SEOMoz community. I work for a website that runs a collectibles news service and sells collectibles online. I recently renamed one of the pages from "Stock for Sale" to "Collectibles for Sale" anticipating this would help our ranking for the term "collectibles for sale". This changes the Title, URL and h1 to Collectible for Sale. A few days later we were up to 5th on Google UK for that keyword. But now after the weekend we've dropped off the face of the earth... Or at least somewhere low down in the rankings. I imagine there could be multiple reasons for this, but what are the most likely causes? There is not much text on the page, it contains an iFrame with image boxes that link to relevant collectibles categories. Website: www.paulfrasercollectibles.com
