What is click2.scour, and why is it showing up as Referral Traffic in Google Analytics?
-
I've noticed that a couple of my clients in the insurance industry have been receiving a pretty large boost in Referral Traffic from a source called click2.scour.com and click2.efacts.com. What surprises me most is that the traffic has a low Bounce Rate, a high Avg. Visit Duration, and is made up of 100% New Visits.
What is this? Why would they be getting so much traffic from these two sources all of a sudden?
Thanks in advance for your help!

The traffic is starting to drop off... Weird. Thanks for your input!

Interesting... without knowing anything about your site or looking at the Google Analytics account, it's hard to make a definite diagnosis. But the fact it's pretty evenly spread out over different cities within the same area, I would not be surprised if it's still only the same few users within the same organization/network who are viewing the site over and over. I'm definitely curious to hear if these visits continue to increase or if they all of a sudden drop off a cliff.

The traffic is definitely coming from different cities in the area. It's actually pretty evenly spread. Browsers and operating systems are mostly the same with only a few variations.

I believe it's some kind of browser redirect "virus" or exploit. So if your computer is infected, your search results pages will redirect to click2.scour.com or some other variation instead of Google's results. Then once a search result is clicked, like your site, it would be tracked as a referral visit from click2.scour.com instead of Google organic. I would normally assume this traffic is coming from the same user/person who frequently visits the site, so the fact you say it's 100% New Visits is a bit odd. Can you dig into the data further to confirm the traffic is coming from different ISPs/cities? And different browsers/operating systems?
Here is some more info on this kind of exploit - http://www.pchell.com/support/scour_redirect.shtml

Is there a way to find out who the admin of a Google Analytics account is?
We have a client who has been searching high and low to gain access to the GA account that is tied to their website, but previous agencies keep stating they don't have access. Is there a way to find out who the admins are on a GA account with the tracking number so we can reach out to that person and ask them to admin the client?

Google Analytics underreporting
I have a site selling items, I use paypal buttons and get a report using ipn back from paypal telling me when I have sold a item. I also have a Google analytics event setup on the button, and one on the confirmation page.
Reporting & Analytics | | AlanMosley
For example in the last few days I have sold over 10 items from the website, but have only 2 events from the button and none from the confirmation page. The confirmation page depends on the user getting redirected back from PayPal so I can see that being upper reported, but there is no way you can buy without clicking the button.
I have the chrome addon from google to debug your analytics code and it fires every time.
The figures seem to report only about 20% of events over a long period of time. If it was not working at all, I could assume I have not set things up correctly but this is not the case, I get a regular flow of events but at about 205 of sales.
I am very disappointed with GA, seems a waste of time. anyone else had the same expirence?0 -
