How to fight against a site always "re-write" your content?
-
A site is always copying our content then re-write to their site, how to fight against this kind of action?
(Many of those copied content can get a rank very closely behind us, which will grab some of our visits )
I tried to find DMCA, but as they have changed some paragraphes, etc, DMCA can't punish them as copying.
I think many of you also have met such a problem, how will you handle this situation??

Try disallowing the user agent in your robots.txt file and pinning down the IP address of the scraper so you can deny it in your .htaccess file

Thanks for your reply.
I newly added the rel=canonical tag days ago, and I will spread our posts on social networks once we published it.
Hope it will works, Google wrongly gives them authority in my opinion.

Hi Jonny
If I were you, I would use a rel=canonical tag solution, so that every page (and new page) has a canonical tag on it.
Among other things, this will tell Google that your site is the originator of this content. Any other versions of it on your site or across the web is being used purely for user experience and therefore should not be ranked over the original.
As you will be publishing the content first, it should be crawled first by the search engines as well. To ensure that it is, I would also share your pages on social media when they go live, as it helps to index the pages much quicker.
This way, the site scraping your content should (in theory) not be able to rank for the content - or at the very least will be seen by Google as the copier of the content, while you will be seen as the originator, due to being indexed first with the canonical tag.
You can read more on canonicals with this handy Moz guide.
Hope this helps.

I tried to contact them via contact us form, but no reply.
Then I wanted to contact their host provider directly, but they are hidden behind proxy, obviously, they are just aiming at stealing contents from others.
-
My first piece of advice would be to appeal to their human side - state your case that it's your hard work they're stealing and that duplicate content may actually hurt both of your rankings.
If that doesn't work which I expect it wont, dend a strongly worded Cease and Desist letter, you'll find some templates here:
http://minnesotaattorney.com/cease-desist-letter-template-example-sample-forms/
Ensure all of your content has a clear copyright mark.
Use the letter to make the point that legal action may be taken if they do not stop.
good luck!

How do I properly sitemap a site with static pages + Wordpress in it's own directory?
I apologize for the awkward wording in the headline. No to the issue, I have a site with static pages that are created as follows: url.com, url.com/page1, url.com/page2, etc. I then have WordPress install at url.com/blog. What is the proper method for creating a comprehensive sitemap for my entire domain. I like the sitemap feature provided by Yoast SEO plugin but I assume it will only index the wordpress directory (url.com/blog). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I want to remove some pages from my site with PR, what should I do with traffic?
I have a section of a site that I want to remove. It has a main page linked from the nav menu, and a half dozen subpages under that. The pages get some traffic and have ranks up to PR3, which is what my site's home page is. I'm no longer want to do these pages as they require tremendous upkeep and I'm not interested in keeping them going. So, I know if I just remove these pages and that's all, I'm going to pay for it somewhere with Google. What else should I do? I do't really have similar pages to direct them too.

How can I rank using translated content?
My friend has a website with similar content to mine, in a different language however. He has allowed me to translate his content if I link to it every post (can be nofollow). Does Google penalize me for clearly translated content? How can I make sure it ranks well? BTW, if I convince him that I don't link to him, is it better SEO-wise? Best,

I have a site that lists events. I ask those submitting events to submit original content if possible, but frequently they submit press releases which are already published elsewhere. I rewrite some of the press releases, but do not have time to rewrite every press release that comes my way. I want my users to get a comprehensive list of events, but I don't want get a penalty for duplicate content. What is the best solution?

A site review please
Hi, first post here so hope i have posted this in the right place. From reading the forums a number of people have asked for site reviews and received some very good feedback so I thought I would jump aboard too. One of my companies, Digital Cow, is based around the world of affiliate marketing and had been doing very well until recent Google changes killed the whole process of making sites based around other people's datafeeds. Through considerable testing we have countered this by increasing the blend of duplicate content and unique, niche related, content. As a result a website we launched about 2 months ago is currently getting around 350 unique hits a day but seems to have stagnated. We know the potential is there for thousands of daily hits on this site and well over 20,000 hits a day on all our websites, but we are having issues with Google at the moment. One week we could be position 10 for a keyword, next position 90, then back to position 10 again and so on. In the last week some 95 keywords moved up the ranking and 62 moved down - we are seoing for a couple of hundred keywords. A small sample of some of these words and our ranking for them are listed below bodysuits women 13

Given it's an ecommerce site there are limits to the content we can add on the homepage. Many thanks Carl0 -
