What vanity Url should I use for Google+ business page?
-
I recently been given the option to choose between my brand and my most important keyword for my Google+ business page. the site is a touristic site for a popular location. The keyword is the name of that location.
Which one is better for Seo purposes?
Thanks.

Hi Ceclilia.
What did you go for? We just got our Vanity URL invite and I have accepted what Google was offering. It is a bit frustrating that we did not have the option to alter the vanity URL to simply Binarydrive, without the CoUK at the end (especially as we do own the .com) ... either way, it is far more attractive, and memorable, than the old numeric string.
Regardng your question, I agree with Kane, go for BRAND over keywords / location etc. I think over the next 12 months we will see even more penalties for location / keyword spammed URL's .... it really frustrates me to see poorly consrtucted websites ranking at the top when you search for "engine tuners in Norfolk" and get a top listing of "enginetunersinnorfolk.co.uk" or SIMILAR !! Build your brand.. think big.. one day you might want to be National or even Global

I would absolutely choose the brand name. Google has a history of penalizing folks who used location and other keywords excessively in their Google Local listings, and with the way they've conducted themselves on G+ thus far (as far as real names, slow release of vanity URLs, etc.) I have no doubt that you'll eventually have issues if you try and insert words that aren't actually in your company or brand name.

Hi Ceclia,
Is there anything preventing you from using both? As in," touristic-name-location" If not, that's what I would do.
Just my two cents!

How Google decide reading time of a page?
Dear friends, I have a question. How google decide bounce rate? For an example- I open a website through organic keyword from Google. Now I have tab of landing page in browser I do not close this tab for 10 minutes and continue doing my other things after some time I come back on that tab and close. Can Google know? This page has been read till 10 minutes. Can Google decide the bounce rate for this session? If I do some click boost for my negative reviews can I do same thing in my website? Is it useful? If I open one tab and come back after one day than what happen? Silly question but confusing me so please help me. I will be very grateful to you! Thanks all

The brand drop down doesn't seem to be appearing for any brands in google.com.hk. Is it something which needs to be set up and registered, or automatically rolled out by Google?
In google.com.hk SERPs the brand drop down doesn't seem to be appearing for any brands. Is it something which needs to be set up and registered, or automatically rolled out by Google? And if so is Google just slow rolling out in this part of the world? Thanks

How can I claim authorship for a doctor using their title "MD" on Google Plus?
Hi Everyone, I am wondering how to claim authorship for doctors while still using their title "MD." Adding MD to Google Plus profiles goes against Google name policy, but in order to comply with the FTC we need to include "MD" to our doctor's name in our article by-lines. I have sent in many appeals with evidence that they have a degree. I also considered creating a "Google Page," but had the impression that you cannot claim authorship with rel=author tags with a "Google Page," only rel=publish. Can anyone help me figure out how to claim authorship for a doctor using (first name last name), MD ?

Anybody else seeing branded organic traffic decreasing and direct traffic increasing? Anything to do with Google auto-filling URLs?
If so, what could the reasons for this be? Maybe because of Google auto-filling URLs? Thanks for reading!

Strategies for getting more listings on first of google
We have a client who is looking to increase the number of results on page 1 of google for their brand name to essentially force some historical negative comments off page 1 of google. I am thinking of things like a twitter page, Facebook page, YouTube page etc. plus optimising their site to try and get multiple pages on page 1. Does any one have experience of doing the same sort of thing?

Has anyone had success with product page rel=author? Can I protect the content but dump the face on the SERPS?
Hi, Is there a way to get the benefits of rel=author for protecting site content but to disconnect that from the face photo on the SERPS? We added rel=author to our unique and individually written product descriptions and reviews. This has led to a decrease in click thru thus far. I suspect this is because when searching for a product to buy the user sees the face and thinks "review" or at least "not corporate". I don't nec. want to dump rel=author in the sea yet for our ecom pages, has anyone had success with product page rel=author? Four our keywords, we are the only company of 10 well known travel sites that have the face in the SERPS, far from improving our CTR, it has trashed it. Any ideas?

Local Business Listings
We have about 60+ local businesses under our main brand we are hoping to manage "easily". We are looking at these three, but unsure which will work the best: www.ubl.org localeze.com yext.com Our past vendor worked with localeze, but had some problems with axicom listings. We are leaning towards Yext, but not sure what all the differences are and if we are comparing apples to apples. Thanks!
